Is Reva University good for B.Sc?

After analyzing student reviews and feedback, here's what stands out:

Pros:

* Good infrastructure: The campus has modern amenities, including a well-stocked library, Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms, and well-equipped labs.
* Friendly faculty: Many students appreciate the supportive and knowledgeable professors who are willing to lend a hand.
* Good placements: While some courses have limited job prospects, others have seen decent placements with decent salaries (e.g., up to INR6 LPA).
* Extracurricular activities: The university offers various clubs and societies, ensuring students stay engaged beyond academics.
* Green campus: The university's lush green surroundings contribute to a peaceful learning environment.

Cons:

* Limited placements for certain courses: Some students reported difficulty finding suitable employment after graduating, particularly in non-engineering courses.
* Inconsistent teaching quality: A few students mentioned that some professors could improve their teaching methods or were still adjusting to the role.
* Classroom shortages: Limited availability of classrooms might cause inconvenience for some students.
* Average food quality: Some students expressed dissatisfaction with the hostel food, citing poor quality or lack of options.

Overall Verdict:

While Reva University has its strengths, such as a good infrastructure and friendly faculty, it faces challenges in providing consistent placements for all courses. Q:   How effective is the placement cell for B.Sc. courses at Reva University?

A:
{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.Sc. Courses at Reva University

Based on student reviews and testimonials, here's what can be inferred about the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.Sc. courses at Reva University:

* Limited Placements: According to some students, the placement cell is not very effective, and most students don't get placed in their desired domain. One student mentioned that "there weren't even 10% of the batch strength placed into proper internships".

* Faculty Guidance: Students were told to appear for placements outside of their domain, which may indicate a lack of focus on industry-specific training and guidance from faculty members.

* No On-Campus Job Offers: Unfortunately, none of the students reported receiving job offers during on-campus placements. This might be due to the limited scope of industries visiting the campus for recruitment purposes.

* Research Opportunities Limited: Some students felt that research opportunities for life Science graduates were lacking, making it challenging for them to pursue higher education or gain industry experience.

It appears that the placement cell could benefit from improving its processes, industry partnerships, and providing more focused training to prepare students for the workforce.

What it takes to be in REVA University.
Placements: Placements and job opportunities at REVA University in my experience is a mixed bag. While the university does attract several companies to campus, the overall outcome depends on the course. For my course, Bioinformatics the placement scenario wasn't particularly very strong. The eligibility typically includes a minimum CGPA and a good academic standing, specific criteria depends on the recruiter, Dell was one of the notable recruiters for our batch, only 20 students out of a batch of 50 were placed. The highest package was 8 LPA and average LPA was around 3 to 4 LPA. The most common role was a medical code, which unfortunate doesn't align well with the skills gained in Bioinformatics. Sadly, internships weren't part of the picture of our course. None of the students from my batch managed to secure an internship, which felt like a missed opportunity to bridge the gap between academics and industry expectations.
Infrastructure: The Bioinformatics department has all the essential facilities. There's a computer Science lab with decent internet and software for our coursework, plus a wet lab for practical. The central library is a huge help with a wide range of books journals and even online resources classroom are comfortable with projectors. The hostels are pretty good with clean rooms. The food is not amazing but definitely edible. They offer both vegetarian and non vegetarian options. On top of that the campus has plenty of food outlets including branded ones, so you always have options if you want something different. There is a health center on campus for basic medical needs and emergencies which is convenient. The sports facilities are excellent, with a cricket ground, basketball courts, and a gym. If you serious about sports the university provides support.
Faculty: I chose Bioinformatics because of my interest in both medicine and engineering, it's a powerful and emerging field. Most of the faculty members are well qualified with PhDs either completed or ongoing. While their knowledge is commendable, some tend to prioritize work, which occasionally takes precedence over teaching responsibilities. Despite this, many are approachable and helpful when student seek guidance. The curriculum is solid, blending Biology and computer Science effective, but it could be more industry oriented with updated tolls and real would applications. The focus on theoretical knowledge is strong but more hands on learning would better prepare the students for jobs Exams are generally timely, though there are exceptions, especially with lab internals, which are sometimes poorly coordinated at the last minute. The semester exams themselves are very easy but require consistent preparation. The pass percentage is decent, ensuring most students clear the exams with the dedicated effort.
Other: I chose Bioinformatics because of my interests in combining medicine and engineering. Science has always fascinated me, and this course seemed like a powerful and innovative field with immense potential. It's perfect for someone who enjoys exploring the interaction of Biology and technology. The best aspects of the course are its relevance to emerging industries and research, However I wish there were more industry oriented projects and practical exposure to current tools and software which would make it even more impactful. REVA University is known for its vibrant campus life. Events like REVA Deepotsava and Khel Koj are the highlight of the year, showcasing talent and culture across disciplines. The campus is lively with a diverse crowd all over India, making it an excellent place for networking and collaboration. The campus is well connected and surrounded with peaceful green space, offering a mix of convenience and serenity. Extracurricular activities thrive, with countless clubs and opportunities for students to engage in sports arts or technology.

Good infrastructure with bad faculty.
Placements: No placements are provided by the college; students have to look for internships and placements on their own. The college doesn't provide any placements for my course. I am still in my 2nd year, and our internships are in the 3rd year, so I don't know the details about it. But seniors said that they faced many challenges looking for internships, and the faculty or college didn’t provide any placements.
Infrastructure: There are many facilities provided by the college like mess, medical, sports, games, labs, Wi-Fi, and library, and they are excellent in their own. The thing I dislike is the classroom that was allotted to us. It was not at all clean, and it stinks horribly.
Faculty: Faculty members were not helpful; they didn’t teach us properly except for a few, and the relationship between students and faculty was not good except with two faculty members. Just two faculty members were good and helpful for me. The course curriculum needs improvements, and the difficulty level of semester exams was quite okay.
Other: I chose this college and course just because my best friend was taking the same, and I didn’t have any idea which course to take. But later on, after admission, I started to feel good about the course. However, the faculty disappointed me a lot. My expectations were very high, and the education provided by the faculty didn’t meet them. Other than these issues, there were many extracurricular activities. In short, the college itself is good, and I recommend taking admission in the college, but just don’t select my course, as the faculty members are not good. They won’t teach properly, but they know many things and won’t educate us about it.

If you are searching for a fine and pleasant college environment, this is it.
Placements: If you're searching for good placements, this college isn't good enough to meet your expectations. Even I had dreams of getting great placements, but I was totally disappointed with the placements and job roles they offered for the course we prepared for. It was completely the opposite.
Infrastructure: The main highlight of the college is its infrastructure. It's one of the best I've seen and experienced. There is a mix of faculty members, most of whom are kind and friendly. There are also a lot of clubs and extracurricular activities that you can take part in, and the college encourages you to do so. Overall, it's the best college that isn't too far out of the city. I would definitely recommend it to everyone.
Faculty: REVA University is an eco-friendly campus, with major chunks of power operating by solar panels. It has experienced teachers and a syllabus that is up to date. They give more preference to extracurricular activities. The extraordinary building architecture and well-maintained, neat lawns are attractive features of this campus. Hostel food is not bad, and the canteen is reasonably priced. However, the mobile signal is weak in certain areas inside the campus. The fully equipped gym is top-notch. Overall, it's a good experience.

Good infrastructure with better quality of study.
Placements: The top roles offered in our course are food inspector and food critic. These are well-paying jobs offered in our course, but also as a nutritionist or a dietitian, we can have a great opportunity to show off our skills managing the patients in the hospital.
Infrastructure: The facility available for the students at Reva University is really good, in my opinion, because we get proper safety and security. Not only this, but they also maintain proper hygiene inside and nearby the campus areas. This helps us feel safe and protected, as well as having guards at every step near every block who monitor the movements or the activities.
Faculty: The semester exams are quite fine as well; we have been trained several days before the exam, hence we don't find it difficult even if we don't study. The faculty members have managed to explain the topics with good teaching aids, helping us remember the topics for a long time.
Other: There are many other options when it comes to selection, of course, but this course in nutrition and dietetics provides us a good time at the workplace and in academics as well. Reva University has managed to fulfill our needs and is still upgrading. There would be no regret after choosing this course at Reva University if the students set their higher goals and met the university decorum.

This college is good for interior design course.
Placements: One of the best choices for students who are looking for an interior design career is the fee structure and the syllabus, which are so convenient to all. In one of the best B.Sc. courses in interior design, the placement is like 6 PLA average, and it totally depends on your skills.
Infrastructure: The quality, of course, is so excellent compared to the other colleges, and the hostels are so good and neat, and the food quality is so nice.24/7 security, medical support, and the neatness of the hostel are so good. There are two to three types of rooms, depending on the requirements and support.
Faculty: The teachers are friendly with the students and passing percentage is 60%. It all depends on the skill and talent of the students The course should need passion; till now, two batch of people are studying in the value for money course .
Other: One of the best choices for students who are looking for an interior design career is the fee structure and the syllabus, which are so convenient for all. This is one of the best B.Sc. in interior design courses.

Please do not join Reva University. There are many better colleges in Bangalore.
Placements: There are many companies like Cognizant and many more. But getting placed is difficult. College itself doesn't allow its students to apply for placements. They don't even provide proper placement training. They only want money. And even an internship opportunity is not given.
Infrastructure: Hostel and course are really bad. Food is sometimes good. Hostel feels are really costly. I think opting for PG is a better option because people who join hostels will leave hostels the next year itself. They found cockroaches in hostel food, which is really ignored by college.
Faculty: Faculty is really bad. The exam process is worse. They try to discriminate against students based on religion and language. They treat students that they will not give attendance. They simply catch students during exams and tell them they are copying and ask for a fine of up to 10k.
Other: There's no festivity in this college. There are no classes in this college. They don't even tell anything about scholarships.
