Covid Induced Literature Discussed At International Panel Meet
September 10, 2021: An international panel debate on covid-induced literature was held by Belletristic, the literary association of Shoolini University's English department.
The discussion centered on the society's new e-book, ‘Covid's Metamorphosis,’ which was released last year. Prof. Manju Jaidka of Shoolini University and Dr. Nilak Datta of BITS Pilani, Goa Campus compiled and edited the book.
This e-book is a compilation of interesting, captivating, and true-life anecdotes about how the current coronavirus pandemic has caused a metamorphosis in human lives. This anthology included stories from a variety of authors from around the world. The contributors came up to speak about their experiences over the previous year to commemorate the publication's one-year anniversary.
The editors began by pointing out that the book is brought together by a single underlying topic - the Pandemic. Pedro Panhoca, a Brazilian, described how he has come to appreciate the basic pleasures of life. Professor of anthropology Aleksander from Belgrade, who studies rationality, recognised the ridiculousness of his knowledge in these crazy times. The covid era has been a time of rediscovery for Eric Chinje of Washington, DC, who has re-examined all of the things he had previously taken for granted. According to Nilak Dutta, the epidemic has left us vulnerable in certain respects, but it has also strengthened us and made us more compassionate toward our fellow humans. Malashri Lal remarked on the prevalent dissatisfaction with digital media that everyone now feels. People have grown to despise virtual gatherings and prefer to converse in person. Prof. Manju Jaidka, on the other hand, believes that the digital medium has served a valuable function in that it has taught us new ways to use technology and has forever revolutionised the field of education.

Belletristic, The Literary Society Organises A Session With Budding Story Writers
August 2, 2021: Belletristic, the literary society of Shoolini University's Department of English, hosted another enthralling literary event to honour the winners of its third short story competition, which was announced in June 2021.
'Here Comes the Sun' was the theme of the competition. The writers read out the two top entries in a virtual session. Faculty members included Head of Department Prof. Manju Jaidka, Prof. Tej Nath Dhar, Dr Purnima Bali, Neeraj Pizar, Sakshi Sundaram, Rajesh Williams, and Dr Navreet Sahi on the panel for debate.

The remarkable stories were written by undergraduate students from Gujarat and Delhi: ‘Inverter’ is the title of a short story written by Aanay Bhatt, a final year student at Christ College in Rajkot. He built a realistic household environment during the continuing pandemic. In the current pandemic condition, the story's slice-of-life incident was one that everyone could connect to. Aanay, a science student has chosen to follow his muse and spends a lot of time writing creatively. He's also an award-winning documentary producer and a scriptwriter with a lot of potential. Suyasha Dwivedi, the second author, is a final-year graduate student from New Delhi. Her narrative was called ‘The Conch Shells,’ and it was about a woman who had experienced a miscarriage. All other students who aspired to write found the workshop to be motivating.
The group plans to organise a discussion on British writer Naomi Alderman's feminist dystopian novel "The Power" next week, with Hasan Nassour, a Shoolini PhD student, as the presenter.
