Effectiveness of Placement Cell for BCA Programs at Srinivas University

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the effectiveness of the placement cell for BCA programs at Srinivas University:

    * Mixed Reviews: Some students mentioned that the placement cell is "really amazing" and has a "good record" in placing students in reputed companies, while others expressed disappointment and frustration with the lack of placements in top companies.

    * Commitment to Placements: According to some reviews, the university guarantees 100% placement to its students, although the quality of these placements may vary.

    * Competition for Placements: With over 600 students in the BCA program, competition for placements is high, making it challenging for students to secure positions in top companies.

    * Lack of Corporate Ties: Unfortunately, some students reported that the university doesn't have strong ties with many corporate entities, limiting the number of placement opportunities.

    * Self-Motivation Required: As one student noted, "If you want to get placed from this college, work by yourself." This suggests that students need to take initiative to secure placements, rather than relying solely on the university's efforts.

Overall, while the placement cell at Srinivas University seems to be improving, there are still mixed reviews and concerns about the effectiveness of the cell, particularly regarding the limited number of placement opportunities and the lack of strong corporate connections.

Strong infrastructure and facilities with decent placements, but scope for industry tie-ups.
Placements: The placement percentage is around 60-80% in the BCA course. The highest salary package offered is around 6 LPA - 8 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is around 2 LPA - 3 LPA. Recruiting companies like TCS, Infosys, and Wipro. About 70-80% of students secured internships Common roles included software development.
Infrastructure: Our department is equipped with modern labs, high-speed Wi-Fi, smart classrooms, and a well-stocked library. Hostels are clean and well-maintained. The quality of food is served in the mess and a variety of options are available in the canteen. We have basic medical facilities. 24/7 health center is available. There are sports grounds for games like cricket, football, and basketball.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, approachable, and knowledgeable, focusing on both theoretical and practical aspects to enhance learning. The curriculum is industry-oriented, covering modern technologies and programming, making students well-prepared for IT roles. Semester exams are moderately difficult. It is designed to test understanding. The pass percentage is typically above 85% with consistent effort.
Other: I chose BCA for its focus on IT and programming, offering a strong foundation for a tech career. The hands-on projects and exposure to modern technologies are highlights. More industry tie-ups and advanced workshops would enhance the course further. Campus hosts vibrant events and tech fests, with an engaging crowd. It is well-connected, surrounded by a peaceful environment, and offers scholarships and extracurricular opportunities for overall development.

    Absolutely good faculty and facilities.
Placements: There are so many students placed in different companies. Many of them have high marks, so they were placed in good companies like TCS, Microsoft, and IBM. About 60% of the students were placed in TCS, and IBM had more chances to place students.
Infrastructure: The campus was quiet and well disciplined, and the students had access to free Wi-Fi. The college also provided good sports and games facilities, as well as entertainment labs with high-quality systems. The college also had a good canteen that provided good food.
Faculty: The teachers were very helpful and made sure that we understood the material. The teaching quality was excellent, and the teachers used projectors to show us everything. The semester exams were easy, but the second and third semester exams were not so easy. However, the percentage of the marks was 60%, which was good.
Other: I chose this course because I like the IT field and think it would be interesting. I also want to improve my coding skills. In addition, there are so many extracurricular activities that it was too good to pass up.

I’m very satisfied and also got placed in one of the startup companies before completing my degree.
Placements: Srinivas University aims to develop high-quality professionals for the needs of industry and academia. Almost 60% of the students get placed once they finish their Masters in their selected specialisation. The top recruiters include Accenture, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finserv, TCL, and Wipro. The university course curriculum is credit-based and focuses on technology orientation, research, and industry linking.
Infrastructure: The college has excellent infrastructure for software development and web designing courses. However, the equipment for cloud computing and AI could be improved. The college building is impressive with a beautiful ambiance. The classrooms are spacious with smart class facilities. Canteen and mess facilities are provided and are decent. Wi-Fi is not provided for personal use. Overall, it's a great place to learn with some room for improvement.
Faculty: The college not only boasts impressive infrastructure but also has a team of well-qualified and experienced lecturers. They are exceptional teachers who make complex concepts easy to understand and are always willing to help students. Overall, the faculty is one of the college's strongest assets.
Other: When it comes to extracurricular activities, there are numerous programs held every now and then, like Freshers' Day, Traditional Day, and all occasions are celebrated, such as Onam, Dussehra, and Holi. The management is very supportive if the students are willing to organise any events such as Teach Fest, IT Hub, or anything related.

    The disappointing reality of Srinivas.
Placements: Since this app doesn't have specific options I am studying BCA in AI, Data Science and big data analytics. This review is about the new campus. They mentioned small businesses which recruit students from the college. Since I am still studying, I have no idea.
Infrastructure: I am studying in the new campus in Pandeshwar. The labs r divided in batches and the classrooms are spacious. No Wi-Fi, no libraries, and no canteen is available, only a cafeteria exists where most of the food is not available. Recently, they installed water purifiers. There is no outdoor space.
Faculty: The teachers do not speak fluent English due to this they lack communication skills which makes it difficult to understand the class. The lab teachers are not aware of the concepts they teach. They do not explain the programs in the lab which would help us understand better.
Other: There are lots of things to be improved. The basic facilities are not provided and the management is very bad. They only take money from the students and are very business minded. They do not care much about education and how much the students understand, it is very disappointing.

One of the overrated colleges in Mangalore.
Placements: The placement cell for computer department is very bad. I don't even know any seniors placed from our college or any companies coming for campus recruitment. Internship is not mandatory in our college. One of the posters I have seen a super senior placed with an annual salary of 2lac. If you want to get placed from this college work by yourself.
Infrastructure: I am satisfied with lab and classrooms which is spacious and have good facilities. But the major problem is that campus is very congested so the classes are taken as multiple shifts ( online classes on friday saturday). Eventhough classrooms and labs have AC they won't turn it on. Mess and canteen facilities are fine. Sports and games are conducted for us in the main campus which is at Surathkal.
Faculty: I am very much satisfied with our faculty members. Teachers are very friendly and handle the classes well. They are qualified and well experienced. But the problem is that syllabus is very old fashioned ( same for most of the colleges). Exams are fine and they will make us pass.
Other: Big events and fests are conducted in our campus which is one of the best things I like about this college. Scholarship are provided only for Karnataka students only. College is situated near to the main road so there's not much about campus area.

I was studying in Srinivas University. It was awesome, but the campus was small.
Placements: There are 50 places where they were placed, but the course fees will be increased year by year, so it will not be so good. However, without any backers, the placements are assured. There are so many companies like ibm infosys etc will be tied up with the college; it will be good for your placements.
Infrastructure: Of course, there is Wi-Fi and also labs, but the classroom was not better. The library was good. I stay in pg so I don’t know about the food. All sports activities are there. The college hostel was good, and very good food was too good. Also, the college has some extracurricular activities.
Faculty: Some teachers are very helpful, but some of them, of course, were better to study. I have more scope while the AI was coming. Semester exams are not tough, so we can score easily. We have 6 semesters. The first semester was easy, also 2nd and 3rd, but the 4th sem was a little bit hard.
Other: I have a plan to choose an IT field-related course atlast i find this. To improve the course, I would say, don’t make more theory classes; make lab classes.
