Q:   Is it worth pursuing B.A. LL.B. (Hons) at TNDALU Chennai?

    A:
    {Source: B.A. LL.B. (Hons) students & alumni}

After analyzing the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the key points:

    Teaching Quality and Faculty

    * Teachers are not entirely helpful, and it may take luck to get a qualified teacher in a semester.
    * Most professors are friendly, approachable, and have extensive experience teaching law students.
    * However, some teachers can be strict and overconfident.

    Course Curriculum and Infrastructure

    * The course curriculum covers the UPSC syllabus and prepares students for practical applications.
    * Air-conditioned classrooms and modern infrastructure make studying comfortable.
    * The library is well-stocked, and the online library provides access to paid legal databases.
    * The hostel is available for girls, while boys live off-campus due to limited space.

    Internship Opportunities and Placement

    * Internships are not mandatory, but attending internships can enhance skills and build networks.
    * Few top legal firms offer internships, and students with strong CVs tend to secure these opportunities.
    * Placements are limited, especially for law graduates, and most students pursue higher studies.

    Campus Life and Extracurricular Activities

    * Campus life is minimal, with no notable festivals, extracurricular activities, or sports teams.
    * However, the college organizes occasional events like moot courts, MUN, and NCC/NSS activities.

    Overall Worthiness

Based on the feedback, pursuing B.A. LL.B. (Hons) at TNDALU Chennai might not be ideal for everyone. While the college offers decent infrastructure and some faculty strengths, its limitations in terms of teaching quality, internship opportunities, and campus life might deter some students. However, those interested in law and willing to adapt to the college's environment might still consider applying.

A scam called SOEL. Do yourself a favour and choose an NLU.
Placements: There is no functional placement cell. It is up to the students to build their CVs and get placements/internships. Also, does not provide adequate leave/OD for students to intern. Hence, it will be exhausting to find internships and work after college. Some reputed firms like SAM also do not take in interns from SOEL solely because of their affiliation with the college. Less qualified students from NLUs will be preferred.
Infrastructure: The Classrooms are nice and air-conditioned. There is no Wi-Fi and they don't provide access to legal databases. The library is fine. The hostel is good. The food is edible but some students get sick. They don't provide in-house medical facilities and students have to voluntarily take part in sports. The college has a maintained football field and does not take sports seriously.
Faculty: The teachers are entirely unhelpful. If you are lucky, you can get one qualified teacher in a semester. The Course is okay but students can't be industry-ready. The Semester exams are so difficult and they fail even well-written papers so people pay for revaluation. The teaching quality was poor.
Other: The only good things are AC Classroom, Short class hours and Next to Taramani MRTS. There is no campus life, no education, no nice fests, no extra curriculars, there is absolutely nothing. If you are a first gen lawyer, DO NOT JOIN THIS.

Our college is absolutely the best.
Placements: It is the best college that offers law courses with a semester fee of Rs.56,000 to 66,000. Internships are not mandatory but going as an intern teaches more. There are 4 different courses B.A. LLB (HONS), B.Com. LLB (HONS), B. CA. LLB (HONS), and B. BA. LLB (HONS)
Infrastructure: Infrastructure looks a bit like a school but has air-conditioned classrooms and friendly facilities. Hostel is not so good and closed around 6 pm. Food, sports, and games are average. There is a good library, computer lab, and aircafe.
Faculty: Teachers are not so efficient. Studying here builds confidence. Semester exams are not tough but scoring marks is tough, scoring 35 in external is a pass, and in internal 15.
Other: I always wanted to become a barrister, so I chose this course. More moot courts and drafting classes would be improved, we do have hostel days, cultural events, fare well, college fests, etc.

The faculty members are good, but the infrastructure should be developed.
Placements: The placement in the college is very low. The student placed through placement is also very low because most of the students are not interested in joining in corporate jobs. I'm studying 2nd year, so I'm not much aware of the placement opportunity. The details about the placement opportunities are available on the official website of the college.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure should be developed, and the library facility is too good in the college. The Wi-Fi connection is available all over the college. The hostel infrastructure will also be developed. They are providing hostels for those who are coming from far distances.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is too good. The students who choose BCA and B.Com courses can be easily qualified for corporate jobs. The semester exams are moderate (neither easy nor tough). To pass the semester exam, the student must get 35 marks in externals and 15 marks in internals; they have to get 50% to pass.
Other: Lawyer is my passion, so I chose this course. The best about my course is that the student can get jobs in corporations as well as be an ACT as an advocate. There will be three events in the college. Tantara, ethnic day, and sayonara (only for hostel students) are events in the college.

A standard college with a good reputation.
Placements: There are four courses for 12th completed students. The B.A. LL.B. (Hons) course is hard to get admitted since the cut-off is always above 90. Top legal firms offer internships now and then. Students with good resumes used to get those internships. Other than that the college also provides moot court programs, MUN, NCC, NSS, and other associations whereby the institution is very much excellent.
Infrastructure: The facilities available in the college are Wi-Fi, parking, a Playground with the gallery, auditorium, NCC base, Classrooms with air-conditioners, AIR cafe, and Canteen. Library both offline Library with books and online Library with computers, network, and access to various paid legal websites like SCC, Manuputra, etc. The hostel is separate for boys and girls. The quality of food in the hostel is good. There is a menu for 7 days. And there is non-vegetarian food available 4 days a week. The mess contract is given to the Kerala mess facilitator. The canteen has a variety of foods including Indian foods, chat items, fresh juice varieties, bakery items, ice cream stores, tea, coffee, KFC chicken items, etc. There is a sports day in the college called BLITZ wherein the inter-college competition will be held. There is a good place available within the college for conducting the games and sports.
Faculty: The faculty members are very good at teaching. Rather than being strict, the faculty members in our college are very friendly and easily approachable. Everyone is with sound knowledge of the subject. They mostly teach subjects with both practical and theoretical aspects. The syllabus is designed in such a way it is sufficient for making students efficient. Every year there are separate marks for the internship we attend and there are also some clinical courses that help us in the practical field. The semester exams are quite difficult in our college. The pass percentage is 50% whereby in other colleges it is only 35%.
Other: This course has wide scope in the career aspect. The UPSC syllabus is covered in our course.

It is expensive, and placements are not up to the mark.
Placements: Students need to improvise by themselves. Placements are only available for some courses, i.e., computer-related courses, but there are almost no placements for the law course. The law course, specifically the Bachelor's course, does not have any good placements. All the students opt for higher studies.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are equipped with air-conditioned and a projector. There is an online library on the campus. Students are also provided with a library card. Every year it conducts an annual event named Tantra where students exhibit their talent. The hostel is available only for girls and not for boys. Girls hostel is on the Tharamani campus and another on the Chepauk campus. There is no hostel for boys, and they stay outside the campus in a PG. The average rent charged is Rs. 5,000 per month. Facilities are good and are up to the mark for the fee collected.
Faculty: Professors are highly qualified. Some teachers are strict and somewhat overconfident. Other teachers are good, helpful and friendly too. The college has good faculty members who have years of experience teaching law students. This college falls under the public sector, so highly qualified and skilled teachers are appointed. There are more than 4,000 students, and it is completely a law-based college. B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) is an integrated five-year course, and it incorporates both the bachelor's degree and law simultaneously.

I am satisfied with the college, and I recommend it.
Placements: Many students study here, and they don't pay for internships. Students are required to choose their area of interest and improve in it. The payment depends and varies from each lawyer based on their communication and talent.
Infrastructure: The college provides a lot of facilities when it comes to the library and academic purposes. There are various platforms like aircafe, learning portals, online study materials and access to research papers. A huge library is available to enrich our knowledge. The hostel is quite manageable, and it needs improvement.
Faculty: The faculty members are very interactive and jovial, which helps us to ask them our doubts without any hesitation. We can write our exams based on our knowledge, and no spoon-feeding is done. So, it is our responsibility to learn for exams and write.
