YCMOU BCom Eligibility & Highlights 2024

The School of Commerce and Management under YCMOU offers a three-year BCom programme at the undergraduate level. The maximum duration to complete the programme is six years. BCom at YMCOU is offered in the Open & Distance Learning (ODL) Mode in the English medium. The university also offers a BCom in Cooperative Management.

YCMOU BCom admission is based on the applicant's merit in Class 12 or equivalent examinations. Students who have passed the first year of BCom from any government-recognised university are allowed to take direct admission to the second year of the BCom programme. To be eligible for admission, applicants must meet any one of the following YCMOU BCom eligibility criteria:

Preparatory programme of YCMOU with minimum 40% marks and completed 21 years of age
Class 12 or equivalent examination of Maharashtra or other state HSC Board
Government-recognised diploma of a minimum of two years after Class 10

Absolutely satisfied with the faculty but not with tha placement companies tha were offered

Placements: Hey everyone I pursued bcom from the City premier college in Nagpur ,Maharashtra. My strength was almost 300 there was a very good arrangement for the students. Most the good companies like Hexaware, HCL came for the placement and 50% students were offered internship. The college have the courses like BBA BCOM BCCA BCA and even MBA.

Infrastructure: There were actually no hostels. Students were living in pgs or flats. The infrastructure was quite good we had a basketball ground, an auditorium fir the programs and etc. There were labs for BCCA students. It was also a junior college for 11th and 12th.

Faculty: Teachers were very knowledgeable. They supported the students very well. All the doubts were acknowledged. The semester exams were quite tough because as Bcom is all abouts accounts so it's quite tough. Pass percentage is you need atleast 40 percent marks to pass the exam.

Other: I chose this course because I loved accounts and I wanted to do CA with Bcom. Events were very good. The events were rather outside the campus like in a hall or another branch but were grandly celebrated and also the students were engaged in various activities.

Satisfied with my college faculty and the infrastructure is average.

Placements: About 63% of students were placed in my course. The lowest package in my course was 4 lacs, the average package was around 15 lacs, and the highest was 2 crore. Wipro, Infosys, Tata, etc. are the top recruiters. About 90% of students got internships. Chartered accountant, company secretary, assistant audit officer, etc. are the top roles offered.

Infrastructure: The facilities are very good in our college and there are enough classrooms and labs for us to learn. I don't live in a hostel but many of my friends do, and they said that it's an excellent and top-notch quality hostel and the canteen facilities are good, along with sports and games.

Faculty: The teachers and faculty are highly educated and very knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good with an understanding of students expectations. Yes, this course curriculum is very relevant and it makes us industry-ready. The exams in college are difficult but on university they are easy and the pass percentage is 80% .

Other: I chose this course because I am interested in how money works and I want to learn about money. The best thing about my course is that it changes a pleasant mindset into a business mindset. I wish there would be more emphasis on practical knowledge and things to give. Events happen every week and there are many big events that take place in our campus.

College with good infrastructure and facilities, but with ample placement opportunities.

Placements: The college faces challenges in placement, with only 20 to 30 percent of students being placed. The highest annual package reached 5.5 LPA, the lowest was 2 LPA, and the average was 3.5 LPA. Nagpur Maha Metro stands as the top recruiting company, and around 30–40 percent of students secure internships in this course.

Infrastructure: While the facilities and infrastructure are good, the campus is relatively small and lacks a playground. Unfortunately, there is no Wi-Fi facility, and the college does not provide hostel accommodations. Despite well-furnished classrooms, labs, and a library, the absence of sports facilities is notable due to the limited campus space.

Faculty: The teaching faculty is commendable, being helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. However, the relevance of this course for students is limited, as most pursue it to complete their graduation and start their own businesses. Regular college attendance is low, and the passing percentage is set at 40.

Other: I chose this course to gain more knowledge about business and to pursue entrepreneurship. While there aren't many events at the college, the organized festival stands out as a significant annual occurrence.

City Premier College has a small campus with great facilities to explore.

Placements: Well, talking about placements in my college, CPC, you cannot expect too much; the reason is that it's just a bachelor course; you cannot expect a high-paying job right after your B.Com anyway. Well, talking about my college, we recently had HCL Technologies on our campus for B.Com. final-year students. I am not sure about the package they were giving, but it was somewhere around 250000 to 3,00,000 annually. Talking about how many were eligible for interviews, the number was too small; out of 380 students in our B.Com. batch, somewhere around 15-20 were only eligible and of course I was one of them. The interview has yet to happen. Everyone is waiting. But yes, companies visit the campus for sure. And what I can say is that it totally depends on your skills and knowledge. I mean, what is your CGPA in college, how much have you stored in your finals and what are your communication skills? Overall, you can get a good placement from B.Com.; all you need is a good skill set.

Infrastructure: Well, before telling everyone about our CPC campus, I want to make a few things very clear in the beginning. The campus of CPC is very small—yes, really small. We have a big academic building with a small exception area and a small parking lot, but wait, this is not all. Even after this small campus, there is a wonderful library in the academic building where we have books from different areas and subjects. And a proper reading area. Next, we have a gym on the top floor of the same building, for which you have to pay some extra. The gym is decent but not very professional. On the top floor only, there is an auditorium where we have wonderful seminars and guest lectures. On the ground floor, we have college parking, an office, an exception area, and yes, of course, a canteen where you can get good snacks and food. Students who are searching for hostels are disappointed because CPC College doesn't have any hostel facilities, but yes, you can definitely get PGs near the college because our college is situated in a residential area. So there will be no difficulty in finding a PG. This is all we have at our CPC college. Yes, the campus is small, but still, there is a lot to explore. Last but not least, we have a basketball court too.

Faculty: This is the best thing where I can give 5 stars without hesitation; the faculty really deserve it. The reason I am saying this is their supportive nature and humbleness. All the faculty members are really good, especially the accounts, which are my favorites. Before our exams, they used to take a revision session for all the students so that they could get prepared for the exams. Other than this, they used to help students with different problems and events, from project ideas to problem solving. You won't believe it, but the professors treat the irregular students very well. And faculty is the only reason academics became so easy. We were well prepared before the exams because of those revision classes taken by our professors. The difficulty of the exam was moderate, I can say, and sometimes tough. The reason is that there was an odd even system for exams in our college; even semester, the college will take an exam, and odd semester, the university will take an exam, so because of this, the exams were sometimes tough and sometimes moderate, not easy any time.

Other: The reason for choosing B.Com. was simple: I was doing a professional course so to do that, I wanted a lenient course that I could manage with my professional course. And if you are also an exception student doing a professional course, then this college will be best for you. Also, you will enjoy the campus life of this college; CPC is known for that. The festivals and events of this college are the best; every year we had 5–6 cultural events and a sports event; the sports event was my personal favorite. Also, there are various clubs, like the management club and the dance club, of which you can become a part. Overall, CPC is good not only for B.Com but also for BBA, BCA, and other courses.

Absolutely worth for a college life. Really affordable fees structure.

Placements: At least 10 percent of students get placements of up to 3 lacs per year. The internship programme is paid at our college. The scholarship is not available to the students. There are many courses available, like BBA, BCA, B.Com., and BCA. The college needs to improve a little.

Infrastructure: No hostel facility is available at the college. There is a gym facility but the gym was never open. The canteen facility is available but they only serve fast food. They do not have a ground for students; the college also has a junior college school and kindergarten.

Faculty: The faculty is good and highly qualified. The difficult-level exam is normal. But the university did not check the answer sheet properly. There are a variety of activities available. The teaching quality is average and the course was not completed before exam .

Other: The campus life is good various events, fests and extracurricular activities are available. The social life need to be improved as per the other colleges. The surroundings are peaceful and good. They need to improve there college building.

Good placements and faculty is available in our college.

Placements: For the Bachelor of commerce, there were ample placement opportunities available at the YCMOU. Around 40% of the students got placed in our course. Average package offered in our course was 3-4 LPA. Top recruiters in the college were from the finance and accounts sector.

Infrastructure: YCMOU has a good infrastructure. Facilities offered for our course were of good quality. Wi-Fi, labs, library, canteen, halls, sports etc. are the facilities available in the college campus. Food of the college’s canteen is good and is offered at a reasonable price.

Faculty: All the teachers were helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality offered at YCMOU was good. Course curriculum followed in our college was relevant and made the students industry ready. Semester exams in our college were medium in terms of difficulty level.
