National Institute of Design has announced NID DAT (Prelims) 2018 result for BDes and GDPD course admissions today, March 13, 2018 at 4 pm. NID result for BDes and MDes entrance exams is declared on National Institute of Design’s official website.
NID DAT (Prelims) was conducted on January 7, 2018 and the result for MDes course admissions was declared on February 15, 2018.
To check NID DAT 2018 result, candidates need to fill details like their registered email address, date of birth and roll number/application number on the official website of NID entrance exam. NID DAT merit list is prepared category-wise, that is, different lists are released for General, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PH category candidates. NID’s official website informs: “From the total number of applicants who have appeared for DAT, the number of candidates to be called for Stage 2 and Stage 3 of the exam will be calculated as no less than 3 X N where ‘N’ stands for number of seats in that category for that programme or discipline”.
How to Check NID DAT 2018 Result
Step 1: Go to the official website of National Institute of Design (NID).
Step 2: Click on “NID Result” tab/link mentioned on the official website.
Step 3: Enter registered email address, date of birth and roll number/application number.
Step 4: Click on Submit button.
Step 5: View result and download NID rank & scorecard.
Step 6: Take print of NID entrance exam result (rank and score)
In a situation in which two or more aspirants have secured the same (total) marks in NID DAT (Mains) for BDes and GDPD course admissions then tie-break in such a scenario is done as per the below mentioned criteria:
- Higher rank is assigned to an aspirant who has higher marks in NID DAT Mains.
- Higher rank is assigned to an aspirant who has obtained higher marks in NID DAT Prelims - Part A exam.
- Higher rank is assigned to an aspirant who has obtained higher marks in DAT Prelims – Part B exam.
- Higher rank is assigned to an aspirant who has obtained higher marks in DAT Mains Question number 3 (carrying 40 marks).
National Institute of Design (NID) admission process requires aspirants to clear two rounds – NID DAT (Prelims) and NID DAT (Mains). Here, NID DAT Prelims comprises of the written entrance exam. Candidates who clear this admission round are then eligible to take part in NID DAT Mains which comprises of the Studio Test and Personal Interview round. Candidates who clear all these NID admission rounds are then offered admission in colleges accepting NID entrance exam scores for admission.
Thus, candidates who make it to the merit list of NID DAT Prelims then need to appear for Studio Test and Interview round as per the schedule shared by NID authorities. Final merit list for NID admissions 2018 will be prepared by calculating the scores obtained by students in each stage of NID admission process.
