Andhra Pradesh Schools to reopen from November 2, government releases guidelines

Considering the ongoing pandemic situation, the state government of Andhra Pradesh decided to lay down important guidelines to be followed by all the schools for the safety of the students and staff members.

Andhra Pradesh School Reopening: According to the latest reports, the Andhra Pradesh government decided to reopen schools from November 2, 2020. The schools across the state will reopen after a gap of seven months due the the outbreak of the novel coronavirus. Considering the ongoing pandemic situation, the state government of Andhra Pradesh decided to lay down important guidelines to be followed by all the schools for the safety of the students and staff members. According to a reputed media portal, AP CMO stated, "Schools across the state are set to reopen from November 2. Schools will function for half-day for November, & students will be sent homes after midday meals. The state government has also decided to conduct classes on alternative days for the students."

Talking about the necessary steps to be taken to ensure safety and health of the students, Andhra Pradesh CMO further added,"Classes 1, 3,5,7,9 will have classes one day, whereas 2,4,6,8 will have classes on the next day. Schools above 750 students will have two working days per class per week, and schools with less than 750 students will have three working days per week."

While the schools are being reopened, the online classes would continue for the students who would not be attending the physical classes. In order to attend school students are required to have written consent from their parents. Meanwhile, schools are directed to follow the precautionary laid down by the ministry of health against the COVID-19 spread. AP CMO stated,"Hand sanitation & physical distancing mandatory. Students will be divided into small sections to prevent congestion. These guidelines would be implemented in November. Further decisions to be taken in December. Online classes for those who can't attend school."
