• GATE 2025 scores offer admission to higher studies, such as M.E/MTech/PhD progams in IITs, NITs, etc.

The marking pattern is different for each question type, which are as follows -

• MCQs have negative marking for incorrect answers.
• NAT (Numerical Answer Type) and MSQ (Multiple Select Questions)
• For MCQs, one-mark questions, -1/3 marks will be deducted for incorrect answers.
• For MCQs,  of two-marks questions, 2/3 marks will be deducted for incorrect answers.

GOAPS stands for Gate Online Application Processing System, which is the official online portal for GATE 2025 admission process. With this interface, candidates can perform the following activities -

Yes. PwD candidates (or with learning disabilities) with scribes will be provided a compensatory extra time of 60 minutes.

The GATE scorecard is valid for three years. Candidates can use their test scores to apply for admission to various IITs, NITs, and other prestigious colleges. A valid GATE scorecard can also be used to apply for PSU jobs. Candidates can download the GATE scorecard from the official website using their login credentials, such as enrollment ID and password.

The GATE paper code of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering is NM. Candidates can find the paper code in the GATE 2025 NM admit card.

The steps to download the IIT Roorkee GATE 2025 admit card is as follows -

• Visit the IIT Roorkee GATE's official website - gate2025.iitr.ac.in
• Click on the admit card link.
• Candidates will have to provide their Enrollment ID/Email address and password.
• Click on 'Login'
• The admit card will be displayed on the screen.
• Download and save the GATE 2025 hall ticket for Feb 1

There are no international exam centres for the GATE 2025 examination. Registered foreign or Indian nationals must travel to India to appear for the exam. Candidates can find their exam address details mentioned in the GATE 2025 admit card.

Candidates can appear for the GATE exam any number of times. 

• Candidates are advised to focus on the topics that have already been prepared.
• No new topics should be started before the examination.
• Important notes and concepts that are expected to have a higher weightage in the exam should be revised.
• Most importantly, it is important for the candidates to stay focused and confident.

No official dress code has been announced by the authorities of the IIT Roorkee. However, candidates are advised to follow the listed pointers.

• Metallic items, jewellery or ornaments such as rings, watches, and belts should be avoided.
• Clothing with multiple pockets should not be worn.
• Cap/muffler or any cloth to cover the head should not be worn.
• Lightweight and comfortable clothes are preferred to avoid any discomfort during the exam.

The GATE 2025 admit card is an important document that must be kept safe until admission. Here are some uses of the GATE hall ticket -

• It serves as an entry pass to the exam hall.
• The admit card will also be required during the counselling and admission processes.
• Therefore, keep the admit card safe till the GATE score validity. 

Section 1 - Engineering mathematics

Discrete mathematics, linear algebra, calculus, probability and statistics

Section 2 - Digital logic 

Boolean algebra, Combinational and sequential circuits, minimisation, number representations and computer arithmetic (fixed and floating point).

Section 3- Computer Organization and Architecture 

Machine instructions and addressing modes, ALU, data-path and control unit, instruction pipelining, pipeline hazards, memory-hierarchy: cache, main memory and secondary storage; I/O interface (interrupt and DMA mode).

Section 4 -Programming and Data Structures

Programming in C. Recursion. Arrays, stacks, queues, linked lists, trees, binary search trees, binary heaps, graphs.

Section 5 - Algorithms

Searching, sorting, hashing. Asymptotic worst case time and space complexity. Algorithm design techniques: greedy, dynamic programming and divide‐and‐conquer. Graph traversals, minimum spanning trees, shortest paths.

Section 6 - Theory of Computation

Section 7 - Compiler Design

Section 10 - Computer Networks

The paper code for agricultural engineering is AG. Candidates can find the paper code in the GATE 2025 admit card.

International candidates must carry any of the following ID proofs -

Candidates can carry the following items inside the GATE exam hall -

• GATE 2025 admit card
• Valid ID proof
• Pen and pencil 
• Transparent water bottle

Candidates are not allowed to carry the following items to the GATE exam -

• Personal calculators
• Mobile phones
• Watches
• Pagers, Bluetooth devices or any electronic devices 

Besides, candidates must not carry other items, such as charts, notes, books, papers, sheets, etc. Candidates must not wear metal embellishment accessories, jewellery, caps, hats, etc. 

Students appearing for the GATE 2025 exam must follow all the instructions printed on the GATE 2025 admit card, which are as follows -

• Candidates must carry the admit card printout and a valid photo ID card for verification purposes.
• Candidates must reach the exam centre 90 minutes before the commencement of the exam. They will not be allowed to log in 30 minutes after the start of the exam.
• Candidates will be permitted to occupy their seats before the exam starts. Candidates can log in and start reading the instructions 20 minutes before the start of the exam. 
• Physical calculator is not allowed inside the exam centre. Instead, candidates will be provided with a virtual scientific calculator that will be available on the candidate’s computer.
• A scribble pad will be provided to do rough calculations. Candidates must write their name and registration number before using it. If the scribble pad is filled, then they can ask for another scribble pad, after returning the previous one to the invigilator. 
• Candidates are not allowed to leave the exam hall before the end of the examination.
• PwD candidates can carry their assertive devices, if any and show them to the examination centre personnel for scrutiny. 
• PwD candidates who have been granted one-hour of compensatory time in the GATE 2025 exam are allowed to leave the exam hall after 12:30 pm (in the forenoon session) and after 5:30 pm (in the afternoon session) by clicking on the submit button in the presence of the invigilator.

Candidates appearing for the GATE must download their admit card from the GATE’s official website/GOAPS portal. The GATE 2025 admit card was released on January 7, 2025, for all subjects. The steps to download the hall ticket are as follows -

• Click on Apply Online and login using your GATE enrollment ID and password
• After logging in, the application status and option to download will be displayed on the screen
• Click on the link and download the GATE 2025 admit card

IT Roorkee is conducting the GATE 2025 exam on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025. The exam will be conducted in Forenoon (9:30 am to 12:30 pm) and Afternoon (2:30 pm to 5:30 pm). Candidates appearing for the GATE 2025 must carry their admit card and valid ID proof to the exam centre.
