Apeejay School of Management combats Covid-19 effects by leveraging online tools

Covid-19 pandemic has stopped economies across the globe. Even academic institutions could not escape from the challenges of lockdown. Few institutions are ensuring flawless perusal of all academic activities. Don’t be surprised, these academic institutions have not been spared from the lockdown rules, instead, they have tried figuring out alternate approaches towards learning.

Online classes to over 7,500 students 

ASM - Apeejay School of Management, New Delhi is among those very few institutions, that are combating Covid-19 effects by being pro-active & exerting further efforts than usual. Since March 23, when the lockdown was declared, Apeejay became active via online learning. The School started various activities over Zoom. They have conducted over 110 Zoom Session since lockdown began via which they reached the audience of more than 7,500 students. These sessions include subject lectures, corporate sessions, Internship Mentoring Sessions, Placement Preparation Sessions, Alumni sessions, Faculty Development Programmes, Reverse Mentoring sessions, etc. Apeejay has hosted more than 50 industry stalwarts over different platforms.

Continued placements amid lockdown

Students are finding the experience as good as the usual classes with a plus point that they can attend live classes from the convenience of their homes. Apeejay School of Management ensured that it continues its corporate relation activity flawlessly. Full-time placements & work from home summer internship activities are constantly happening online. Companies such as Bajaj Finserv, Bridge Group, etc are actively hiring even during the lockdown. 

Academicians are also ensuring their way forward. Apeejay School of Management, faculty members have managed to get their paper published in the best of the journals even at the time of this worldwide pandemic. Around five Faculty Development Programmes have been conducted online.

Facility of E-Library to students

Students are accessing books over e-library. They can access case studies over various online portals subscribed by the Institution. Library officials from Apeejay School of Management are ensuring that students can get their due share of awareness with the current affairs via sending e-newspaper copies every morning, with all the above library-related activities online. 

Apeejay Education Society started a webinar series, in which industry stalwarts have shared their concerns & way ahead after Covid-19 pandemic. Aditya Berlia, who is the Co-Promoter Apeejay stya Swaran Group, with CII, is hosting these sessions. These sessions have been highly appreciated by the industry & the audience across. These sessions have been an active mode of communication between the industry leaders & audience and via this session, the audience could understand the industry leaders’ perspective. Most of the leaders have shared that though this is a tough time yet we will stand with our employees. We will overcome this situation, they added.

Corporate Resource Centre, Apeejay School of Management, is also conducting an online session with industry leaders & alumni of the Institute. “Our management has asked us to ensure the safety of our every employee. We are not only ensuring their safety but also we are feeding our workers who are connected to us on a daily basis & got stuck because of lockdown,” said S Y Siddiqui, Cheif Mentor, MSIL. “I appreciate the initiative taken by Apeejay to connect corporate with the campus. It is keeping our future managers motivated & ignited.” Said Amit Pandey, COO, Exicom Tele Systems Ltd.

Aquil Busrai, CEO, Aquil Busrai Consulting, Nagendra Prasad, Director HR, Apeejay Group, Sanjay Jain, CHRO, Polyplastics Industries Limited, SY Siddiqui, Chief Mentor, Maruti Suzuki India Limited,  Mohit Kumat, President HR, Hindalco have been some of the participants for the zoom sessions from the industry. Also, some of the Apeejay School of Management Alumni such as Anshul Puhnani, CMO, Monster.com,  Vineet puri, Head India & Philipines (Client Servicing), Cvent, Sachin Phartiyal, VP & Biz Head, Crompton Greaves, Anubhav Nath, Chief Revenue Officer, PTC Network, etc have been part of Zoom session with Apeejay students.

“We are amongst very few Educational Group across India which have been highly active during Covid-19 Pandemic. We are ensuring that learning should not stop. As a management Institution, we ensure that our students must be ready to face any kind of challenge & perform under pressure. This is a time when staying home is contributing to the nation. we have added another step to it. Our students are performing under pressure and adding new dimensions to their qualification during these times.” said O P Khanduja, Executive Director, Apeejay Dwarka Campus.

Apeejay School of Management has left no stone unturned to make this lockdown productive. They have also ensured medical safety & awareness of the students. Dr Monica Mahajan, Director (Internal Medicine) Max Healthcare & Dr Satish Koul Director & Senior Consultant Internal Medicine also took an online session on Health, Hygiene and mental wellness, during & post-COVID 19.

Students of Apeejay School of Management are also responding equally to the Institution’s efforts. Not only they are joining all the summer internship sessions, placements activities, lectures, mentoring sessions, corporate guest lecture series but also they are also conducting their own experience sharing sessions.

“Our team has adapted to the situation quite aggressively. We have launched an online program in collaboration with Coursera. Now our students will be able to access around 4000 Course Modules from the world's best universities. We are also looking forward to launching an e-coffee table book which will reflect our activities during the lockdown,” added APeejay Dwarka campus ED, Khanduja.
