BHU Re-opening: Considering the subsiding COVID-19 cases in the country, schools and colleges have started reopening after remaining closed for over 10 months. Followed by the same, the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is all set to resume classes from February 22. The varsity was closed for classes on March 17 last year due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic across the globe. The decision regarding the re-opening of BHU was taken at the chancellor's meeting. According to the announcement made by BHU administration, the hostels will re-open from February 17.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh government also directed to re-open schools for Classes 6 to 11 are opening from February 8 and the administration has made all the preparations for it. Following the instruction made by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Education Department has issued standard operating procedures (SOPs). Considering the need to be careful during the ongoing pandemic situation and in order to safeguard the students, the government directed schools to sanitize classes before the schools open and after every shift. Arrangements for thermal scanning, masks, social distancing and first aid have been ensured before admission to the school.

Considering that the schools are reopening after ten months, it is no less a challenge for the school management to begin the classes again. At the same time, the students are also enthusiastic about the resumption of classes, along with the parents are it is also necessary to stay alert. Many states across the country including the capital have re-opened schools following precautionary measures against COVID-19 spread.
