Amid the ongoing pandemic situation, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) decided to conduct UG, PG semester exams online in an open-book format.
BHU Open Book Exams 2021 Dates: Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Uttar Pradesh recently announced the official schedule for the undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) semester exams. BHU decided to conduct the semester exams via virtual mode considering the safety and health of the students amid the ongoing pandemic situation. The devastating second wave of the novel coronavirus severely affected many.
In order to help the students facing financial crisis due to the pandemic, the varsity has decided to offer relaxation to paid seat students. BHU via its official Twitter handle stated that “Students admitted underpaid seat category, seeking relaxations/waiving in the paid seat fee component on the grounds of financial constraints due to #Covid19 situation, shall be allowed to appear in exams on deposition of University's regular fee for now.”
Informing further about the declaration of the results, the varsity said, “However, declaration of result in such cases shall be subject to deposition of this fee component or once a decision is taken by the Academic Council in the matter.”
BHU students must note that in order to appear for BHU Open Book Exams 2021 they would require a system – either a personal computer or a mobile phone – with internet connectivity to appear for the exams. The exams will be of four hours and 30 minutes. The total duration of the exam includes time for downloading the question paper from the portal, writing the answers by hand, and uploading the hand-written answer sheets on the portal. To avoid any hiccups, students are also advised to login 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the exams.
According to BHU open book exam dates, BA and BSc Semester 6 exams of different subjects will be conducted between July 10 and 27. A total number of six venues have been decided by the University for these Exams – BHU main campus, Arya Mahila PG College, Vasanta College for Women, DAV PG College, VKM, and Mahila Maha Vidyalaya.
The datesheet also suggests that MSc (Chemistry) second-semester exams will be held from July 13 to 24 and MSc (Zoology) second-semester exams will be conducted from July 13 to 22. MSc (Tech) Geophysics semester 6 exams will be held on July 10 and 12, and semester 4 exams of the programme are scheduled for July 23 to 29. Exams for MSc (Environmental Science) semester are scheduled for July 14 and 15, and Semester 2 exams are scheduled for July 12 to 16.
MSc (Applied Microbiology) and MSc (Botany) semester 2 exams will be conducted from July 15 to 23. BHU has decided to conduct all these exams in a single shift, i.e. from 11 am to 3:30 pm on the exam days.
