As a passionate public speaker and healthcare professional, I'm driven to bridge the gap between the general public and medical professionals. My journey began at an early age when I decided to pursue a career in medicine. After completing my dental degree, I embarked on a mission to empower individuals to take charge of their health. My passion for healthcare led me to pursue a Master's degree in Healthcare Management, equipping me with the skills and knowledge to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others. I am an avid reader and an enthusiastic traveler.

Q1.How did you choose your course of study in school (class XI-XII)? What made you choose PGDM at IIHMR Bangalore?

Medicine came to me at a very young age. I was only 13 when I was introduced to the wonders of science especially biology. My interest developed and only grew from there on. I decided then that I wanted to be a doctor. Later as I was pursuing BDS I was exposed to the other aspects of the healthcare industry and there on I went on to explore and gain experience in them leading me to take up a master's in management in the healthcare industry.

Q2.How did you crack admission in your current college? What entrance test(s) did you give? Any coaching classes that you took for preparation? Any other colleges that you were trying out for? What challenges did you face while opting for this college?

Q:   Why should I choose IIHMR Bangalore for a PGDM?

A:

For IIHMR Bangalore, the selection process begins with the MAT/CAT exam. Once you get the desired score they shortlist you for the next steps. Post clearing the MAT/CAT exam, a Group discussion is conducted. Upon completing the GD the panel calls you for a personal interview. Once you complete all of these successfully then the offer letter is sent to you. I prepared on my own for the MAT/CAT exam with the help of question banks and practice papers online. The only challenges I faced were not being able to visit the campus before admission as I am from Delhi, and deciding between the Delhi campus and the Bangalore campus. Other than that the process was very smooth.

Q3. How you spend your time at college? Which classes do you like to attend? Which extra-curricular activities are you a part of in college? If given a chance, what else would you want to do? How has your college experience changed you as a person? What opportunities do you see in the future?

At campus, the schedule is packed and laid out to include both theory and practical classes and seminars. I am a part of various committees on campus that keep my time occupied and also help me in developing my skills. I take part in a lot of co-curricular that happen on and off campus, it is important as they help me de-stress and at the same time give me good exposure. At campus, we also get a lot of opportunities to be apart of live projects in the industry where we work directly with industry leaders. Overall, the two years have been a wonderful experience, helping me develop my skills, pushing me towards getting out of my comfort zone and overall developing me into an industry-ready professional. With the skills acquired, I feel ready to set foot in the industry of healthcare which in itself is very vast and through this course and training during the course, I feel much better prepared for it.

Q4. What do you plan in the future?

I plan to start by further gaining experience and exposure to the industry and applying the skills I have acquired to better serve the population and facilitate my personal and professional growth.

IIHMR Bangalore is usually considered a Tier 2 institution. But it does not mean that it is anyway less in its reputation. It is well-respected within its niche of healthcare management although lacks to have the broad recognition or placement power of Tier 1 institutions like IIMs.

The ATMA cutoff for IIHMR Bangalore in 2024 is typically around 60-70 percentile (do see it is not percentage but percentile). Thus, specific cutoffs can vary slightly each year based on the applicant pool, so it's recommended to check the official IIHMR Bangalore website or contact their admissions
