Calicut University Exams Postponed! The University of Calicut in its latest notification informed about the postponement of all exams scheduled on begin from Saturday, July 3, 2021. According to the reports, the decision to postpone the exams has been taken amid the rising demand to cancel the exams due to the ongoing pandemic situation and the restrictions imposed in order to contain the virus spread. As per the direction of the government related to the COVID situation, all the examinations scheduled to be conducted on July 3 Saturday, have been postponed, the university authorities informed. Calicut University students who were supposed to appear for these exams must note that the varsity will release revised dates of the exams later, informed Dr C C Sabu, the university controller of examinations.
Earlier, the University of Calicut decided postponed all the examinations scheduled to commence on June 15 due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation and the subsequent lockdown. The university also stated about the announcement of a revised schedule later. "In view of the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown, Calicut University has decided to put off all the exams that have been scheduled to begin on June 15. Revised dates will be announced in due course," Dr. CC Babu, Controller of Examinations said in a notice issued.
Meanwhile, regarding the conduct of exams via virtual mode, Calicut University decided not to conduct online exams for sixth-semester undergraduate students and fourth-semester postgraduate students in its affiliated colleges and distance education centres. However, according to sources, online exams will be held for students in engineering colleges on the lines of what was done by the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.
