The Education Promotion Society for India (EPSI) hosted a Round Table Discussion and Felicitation Program. The event brought together thought leaders, policymakers, and educational entrepreneurs to deliberate on the transformative role of the private sector in Indian higher education. The program began with an insightful inaugural address by Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman of the National Board of Accreditation, which set the tone for meaningful discussions on the theme, “Role of the Private Sector in Transforming Higher Education in India.”

The round table discussion, moderated by Gurucharan Gollerkeri, Director of M S Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, featured distinguished speakers including Dr. Vedprakash Mishra, Pro-Chancellor of Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education and Research; Dr. Amit Banerjee, Chancellor of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan; Prof. Victor Gambhir, President of JECRC University, Jaipur; Prof. N. J. Pawar, Vice Chancellor of Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth; and Dr. Ajit Parulekar, Director of Goa Institute of Management.

The discussion showcased innovative strategies to improve accessibility and bridge the skills gap in higher education. Private institutions play a pivotal role by driving innovation, investment, and expertise, which enhance education quality, integrate cutting-edge technologies, and promote industry-academia collaborations. Following the discussion, a session on Leadership and Excellence in Education featured a keynote address by Prof. T. G. Sitharam, Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education, who underscored the importance of private sector participation in transforming education.

Dr. MR Jayaram, President, EPSI Chancellor, Ramaiah University said, "The participation of the private sector is vital for creating a more inclusive and accessible education system that can cater to diverse populations and drive socio-economic development. It will also ensure that graduates are well-equipped to navigate the challenges of the digital age, contributing to India's aspiration of becoming a Vishwa Guru."

A key highlight of the event was the felicitation ceremony, which honoured Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs), and senior educationists, including Dr. G.
