Coronavirus: Government provides Kendriya Vidyalaya premises for COVID-19 isolation campus

The Minister for Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' has directed Kendriya Vidyalayas to provide their buildings to local administration for temporary housing of suspected COVID-19 cases.

The Minister for Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' has directed Kendriya Vidyalayas to provide their buildings to local administration for temporary housing of suspected COVID-19 cases. Before this, he had permitted to establish provisional medical facility/quarantine campuses for isolation in Navodaya Vidyalayas. He also tweeted about the decision and informed that Kendriya Vidyalaya premises would be made available upon appeal to set up a quarantine facility. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) will permit the use of classrooms of KV School buildings after getting an official demand from any defence authority or district administration, the Dy. Commissioner/I/C Dy. Commissioner/ any other senior-most officer of region/Principal of KV concerned.

Before this, campuses of such JNVs which are operating in permanent buildings and which do not have any student as of now, will be used for establishing temporary medical facility or quarantine campus of isolation. JNVs, where migrated students are staying, are barred from this order. MHRD has ordered all educational institutes to remain closed, defer exams, and use e-learning resources for teaching and checking purposes. Board exams across the country have been postponed. Education boards that have finished the board exams have deferred the assessment process and have deferred the result announcement. National Testing Agency (NTA) has deferred JEE Main April 2020 exam and NEET UG 2020 exam.

As of now, the number of COVID-19 disease in the country has taken the lives of 30 people and more than one thousand people have been infected from the deadly virus. All across the globe, the coronavirus has taken more than 30,000 lives.
