Amid the ongoing coronavirus lockdown, the Rajasthan government has decided to promote all the students from class 1 to 9, and class 11 to the next grade without holding any examination.

The Rajasthan government has directed all the schools in the state to promote students from class 1 to class 9, and 11 to the next grade without holding any examination in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

The students will be promoted to class 10 and 12 based on the marks they have scored in the half-yearly examination and co-curricular activity, as per an order issued by Rajasthan Secondary Education Department.

As per the official statement, the state government has decided that all students who were pursuing their studies and were due to appear for the final exam, will now be promoted to the next grade without any examination. The decision has been taken while keeping in mind the current emergency situation due to coronavirus pandemic in the country.

Rajasthan Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasra had announced the state government's decision to promote all the students who are in their non-board exam years to the next academic grade through a tweet.

As per the directive given by the state government, the school principals will handover promotion certificates to students after the lockdown ends.

The students will be provided online study material for the next class through Social Media Interface for Learning Engagement (SMILE).

As the 21-day nationwide coronavirus lockdown comes near to an end and there are chances that it could be extended further, the total number of positive COVID-19 cases in the country rose to 9,152, after 796 new infections were reported in past 24 hours, showed the latest data from Health Ministry.
