Due to the outbreak of the Pandemic coronavirus, Delhi University has joined hands with other educational institutes in order to take precautionary steps against the disease. To ensure the safety and health of its teachers and students Delhi University (DU) has decided to suspend classroom lectures. The University will be arranging educational materials online for students through its official website. The step has been taken to bring down the footfall on the University’s campus to avoid spreading of the deadly virus.
In a press release, DU administration has stated that the University will maintain the teaching-learning process in all postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. The study material will be made available on a weekly basis on the University’s website by the respective teachers of all the departments/ colleges/centres. The process of online teaching and learning will go on till March 31, 2020.
Delhi University has made this clear that orders have been given to the teachers. The teachers are asked to remain available as per their time-table through e-resources. However, during this period, the house examination and internal assessment process will remain suspended. The same will be taken up once the students and teachers will be back on campus i.e. only after March 31, 2020.
The University of Delhi came up with the announcement of its closure when the Delhi government declared coronavirus as an epidemic. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that all the schools and colleges where no examination is going on will be closed till March 31, 2020, in order to control the rapid spread of the virus.
