Kendriya Vidyalaya decided to promote students of Class 1 to 8 to the next higher class. The decision is irrespective of whether the students appeared in the year-end examination or not.
Amid the novel coronavirus outbreak, Kendriya Vidyalaya decided to promote students of Class 1 to 8 to the next higher class. The decision is irrespective of whether the students appeared in the year-end examination or not. However, the institution will do the verification of the student’s fees on UBI Portal accordingly before March 31, 2020.
According to the reports, the promotion of class 1 and class 2 students to the next class will be based on their performance in the monthly achievement test conducted in the session 2019-20. However, Students of Class 3 to 8 will be promoted on the basis of the subject-wise weightage in which they could not appear in the session ending annual examination.
The officials also stated that the students from class 1 to 8 who got ‘E’ grade in the final result will also be promoted to the next class. No improvement test will be arranged for these students. Students who were absent due to medical reasons will be promoted to the higher class as well.
The parents or guardians of the student will be notified by Kendriya Vidyalaya about the results of Class 1 to 8 via e-mail/WhatsApp/SMS. So far, the reports say that the schools will be closed until March 31, due to the outbreak of coronavirus. However, after the PM’s announcement regarding the complete lockdown for the next two weeks as well, it is being speculated that the closure of schools, colleges and other academic institutions will extent until mid of April. Schools and colleges have not released any official notice regarding the extension of the closure yet.
