In the wake of the novel coronavirus, the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) postponed BA LLB 2020 exam. The examination was scheduled for April 13. According to the official reports, AMU authorities canceled all departmental and admission tests, including the BA LLB exam, that was earlier scheduled in the month of April. The university took this decision as a precautionary step to control the rapidly spreading virus COVID-19. The Vice-Chancellor of the university made the announcement regarding the cancelation of the exam. No fresh dates are issued yet.
Earlier, the university canceled all university examinations scheduled till April 2. The university also asked the students to vacate the hostel. However, AMU issued an advisory asking students residing in hostels to not panic and take every precaution while traveling back to their home.
Talking about the postponement of the examination, AMU spokesperson Omar Peerzada stated that all examinations scheduled till April 2 have been postponed and fresh dates for these examinations will be announced later.
He further added that as a precautionary step, the University has closed down the Maulana Azad Library on the campus but the students will be allowed to issue books for home reading.
Requesting the students to not create panic, Peerzada said that the school students and girl students should travel after duly informing their parents or guardians.
The reports of the postponement of the examination came when University Grants Commission (UGC) issued an advisory to the universities asking them to postpone all exams and suspend all evaluation work until March 31, due to Coronavirus Outbreak.
So far, not a single case of coronavirus has been reported from the JLN medical college hospital, AMU, or any other government hospital in the city, he claimed. However, according to the latest reports, the total positive cases of novel coronavirus have risen to 415. World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared the disease as pandemic and state governments are taking every possible preventive step to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
