AICTE launched an e-learning portal Enhancement in Learning with Improvement In Skills (ELIS) to foster digital learning and support the student community across the country.
Amid suspended classes, postponed exams and shut academic institutions, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) launched an e-learning portal Enhancement in Learning with Improvement In Skills (ELIS) to foster digital learning and support the student community across the country. Students and teachers can access the ELIS platform at free.aicte-india.org.
According to the official statement released by the AICTE, in order to prevent academic loss of students, many companies offered their e-learning contents free of cost to learners. To sure that students get online content that not only enhances learning for regular subjects but also aims to build up valuable skill sets as required in the actual work environment, AICTE launched the ELIS portal.
The e-learning content on the ELIS is sourced from 18 leading Ed-tech companies with 26 different courses. The chairman of AICTE, Professor Anil Sahasrabudhe along with the vice-chairman AICTE, Professor M.P Poonia and the member secretary of AICTE, Professor Rajive Kumar formally launched the portal on April 13.
Chief Coordinating Officer of NEAT, Buddha Chandrashekhar and NEAT cell team members Dr. Elangovan, Debanshu Srivastava and Baljeet Singh are the part of the development team of ELIS.
The official statement released by AICTE states, ‘Under normal circumstances, these are selectively available at prices ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 20,000. However, all participating companies have offered to enroll students in the present lockdown period without any cost until May 15, 2020. All companies have also gracefully agreed to keep the course free. In effect, there shall be no charges whatsoever to be paid by learners who enroll now until the course is completed.’
While appreciating the whole nation for coming together as a whole to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, Professor Sahasrabudhe thanked all the companies for rising to the occasion and offering the contents free of cost for benefit of the student community.
