COVID-19: DU starts webinar series, counselling for students

The Central Placement Cell (CPC) of the varsity is also all set to launch a detailed webinar series for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The University of Delhi (DU) initiated online counseling services for students. In an official notification, the university released a series of numbers of professors who can be contacted at its official portal. The Central Placement Cell (CPC) of the varsity is also all set to launch a detailed webinar series for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

According to the university notification, the webinar would be a weekly meeting series beginning from May 4. It would be held from 5 to 6 pm every Monday. The first seminar will be on the topic ‘Gen Z and jobs of the future’ followed by business ethics on May 11. Throughout the seminars, topics such as an introduction to data analytics, tips to make a resume, and crack interviews will also be discussed.

Another webinar planned by DU is on ‘COVID-19 and challenges of visually impaired’. The webinar is expected to be addressed by Shakuntala D Gamlin, secretary disability affairs, department of empowerment of persons with disabilities under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Tyagi will also be a part of the webinar.

Meanwhile, Delhi University has begun the admission process for foreign students. However, the last date of application is now extended due to the lockdown imposed to contain the COVID-19 virus. The deadline for undergraduate courses is June 12 while the applications for the master’s programme and MPhil courses will conclude on June 6. However, the application forms for the Indian nationals are yet to be released for admission at the varsity.
