The CBSE has asked all its teachers who are currently working from home to make the best utilization of this time by undertaking different activities and making the best possible use of technology.

The Central Board Secondary Education (CBSE) has directed all the teachers who are working from home amid nationwide closure of schools due to coronavirus pandemic, to utilize their time to explore new areas of teaching, by making the best possible usage of technology.

The CBSE in an official notification said that the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has asked all teaching and non-teaching staff to work from home, as a preventive step, to avoid further spread of coronavirus. During this time we all must ensure that, while at the same time as responsible educationists, we have to be positively constructive too.

This is the best time to undertake different activities, by making the best possible use of technology. the Board said.

The Board has also suggested several other activities to the teachers, to help them spend this time in the best possible way along with their colleagues and students. This included activities like 'Planning for the whole Session/Year', 'Student Enrichment Activities' and 'Teacher Enrichment Activities'.

The planning included preparing or defining the learning outcomes of different subjects and classes, Mapping the learning outcomes to the curriculum, Preparing the annual scholastic and Co-Scholastic Curriculum Plan (ACP) by integrating different student enrichment activities started by the Board and different ministries, such as Swachhata related activities, Celebration of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat, Heritage Quiz, Eco Clubs, SEWA Project, Reading Challenge, etc. , and Preparation of Annual Pedagogical Plan for the whole school, all classes and all subjects.

Student Enrichment Activities includes preparation of tutorials and video lectures on different subjects, and topic, and uploading them on various online platforms. It also includes designing online formative assessments and self-assessment activities for students to help them keep track of their learning and creative assignments, projects or practice worksheets which they can complete easily on their own or under the guidance of their parents at home may be given.

As students will not be able to ask a quick question in real-time as they would not be in a real classroom, make your content as lucid and attractive as possible. Add quick pointers, use visual appeals wherever possible. Do not forget to share these links with the Board, the CBSE notice said.
