According to the reports, District Magistrate Abhishek Prakash stated that ‘no private school in Lucknow can collect fees in the month of April.’
Lucknow district administration came forward to give some relief to the parents of students amid this rising health and economic crisis due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus. On April 5, the Lucknow district administration announced that no school shall force any parent or student for fees payment until the lockdown period is over.
According to the reports, District Magistrate Abhishek Prakash stated that ‘no private school in Lucknow can collect fees in the month of April.’
In order to make sure that the private schools follow the given instruction regarding the collection of school fees, the administration issued strict instructions to all the private schools within the boundaries of the district that fess for the month of April, May and June must not be collected from the public during the lockdown period. Also, schools should not stop any child from online education during the lockdown over fee issues.
Mr Prakash further added that schools are told to adjust fees for the next three months i.e. April, May and June later. No school shall stop students from online education.
On March 24, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared a nationwide lockdown for 21 days to control the novel coronavirus spread. All the academic institutions are shut throughout the nation resulting in the postponement of examination and delayed results. However, to prevent loss of studies, the Ministry of Human Resource and Management is sorting digital ways to continue the teaching and learning process. While the evaluation works are on hold, teachers are asked to conduct classes and lectures online, send assignments through SMS and emails, upload study material on institutions’ websites to help students study from home.
