To keep students abreast of the latest technology is the need of the hour. All educational institutions make a concerted effort to maintain their curricula updated and industry-ready. Faculty Mukesh Jha of Ramesh Sippy Academy of Cinema and Entertainment talks about how the institute keeps the curriculum updated with an emphasis on holistic development of the students in an interview with Shiksha.com.

Q: What are the salient features of the teaching methodology adopted by your college? How does this differ from others?

A: We as an organisation believe in the holistic development of students. For overall grooming, our college emphasises not only the theoretical but on practical part as well. We as an organistaion frequently organise seminars facilitated by industry experts to enhance the knowledge as well as to keep them aware of the latest trend regarding the industry.

Q: How are you preparing your students to be Industry ready?

A: We frequently organise experts seminar from the industry to keep students aware of the latest trends. Besides that, our college often arranges industry visit programmes so that students can practically experience the working pattern in studios, theatres and movies.

Apart from this, we have live projects wherein the students are put under the mentorship of industry experts to assist them

Q: What are the qualities you are looking for in student applicants? What qualities do they need to do well in your course?

A: During the complete selection process, the only parameter we focus on is Passion. Students willing to pursue this career must be eager to explore new ideas, must be very much aware of the industry as well as hard working. They should not be bothered about failures and must learn from mistakes and keep improving.

Q: How do you ensure that your course curriculum is up to date and meets industry requirements?

A: To keep ourselves up to date regarding course curriculum and related matters, our college keeps meeting with industry experts and keeps updating ourselves accordingly. For that our college organise different seminars online and offline as well so that students and our curriculum must be of industry standards. There are numerous sites related to our curriculum where the organization keeps searching for new things.

Besides industry experts, our alumni play an important role. We have a great network of alumni working with reputed brands who keep embracing us from time to time and help us revise our curriculum.

Q: Is your college receptive to innovation, technology, science & entrepreneurship? How? Could you cite some examples of these?

A: We as an organisation, are always in search of innovative methods and technologies to train our students so that they can evolve as complete professionals at the completion of their course. For that as mentioned aforesaid, we keep organizing experts seminar and we use latest technologies to train.

Besides training them for service careers, we also motivate and prepare them for entrepreneurship.
