In partnership with Forge and InnovationCuris, the innovation department of the Ministry of Human Resources Development and All India Council for Technical Education launched a mega online challenge -- Samadhan -- to assess the aptitude of students to innovate. According to a statement from the ministry, the students taking part in this challenge would explore and advance such methods that can be made accessible to the health services, hospitals, government agencies, and other services for rapid solutions to the Coronavirus epidemic and other similar mishaps. Besides, the ministry informed that through the Samadhan challenge, work will be done to make citizens aware and face any challenge. It would also encourage them to evade any disaster and to help people get an occupation.

As a part of the "Samadhan" challenge, the students and faculty will be encouraged to do new experiments and new discoveries. It would offer them a strong base leading to spirit of experimentation and discovery. According to the ministry statement, the success of this programme relies upon how effective are the ideas of participating contestants pertaining to the ability to find solutions, technically and commercially. This, in turn, will help fight the epidemic like coronavirus. From April 7, 2020, the applications to participate in this competition commenced.

April 14, 2020 is the last date for submission of applications. After shortlisting, the name of the candidates going forward in this competition will be announced on April 17, 2020. Such contestants are supposed to submit their entries between April 18 and 23, 2020.  The final list will be out on April 24, 2020, after which the grand online jury will take a call on the final winners on April 25, 2020.
