The examination mode of NTA JEE Main 2025 Paper 2 is conducted online except for the drawing section.

• The paper 2A comprises a total of 77 questions, 50 from the general aptitude section, 25 from mathematics, and 2 questions from the drawing section.

Frisking is a search of a person's outer clothing wherein a person runs their hands along the outer garments of another to detect any concealed objects. Frisking will be done at the entry gates of the JEE Main exam centre and after each toilet/bio-break, the candidate takes during the exam. It is advised to reach two hours before the commencement of the exam to complete the verification process smoothly.

The JEE Main BArch paper comprises three parts, which are as follows -

Candidates must follow the following instructions as prescribed by the authorities-

• Candidates must reach the exam centre two hours before the exam time.
• No candidate shall be permitted to leave the Examination Room/ Hall before the end of the examination.
• After the completion of the exam, candidates must wait for instructions from the invigilator. The candidates will be permitted to move out, one at a time only.
• If religion/customs require you to wear specific attire, please visit the Centre early for thorough checking and mandatory frisking.
• No Candidate would be allowed to enter the examination Centre, without admit card and undertaking, valid ID Proof, and proper frisking.
• Candidates must not carry any personal belongings, such as electronic devices, sheets, or mobile phones inside the exam hall. 
• Shoes/footwear with thick soles and garments with large buttons are NOT permitted.
•  If a candidate goes for bio-break /toilet, he/she should undergo the mandatory frisking and biometrics again.
• Blank paper sheets will be provided in the exam hall. Candidates must write their name and Roll Number at the top of each of the sheets and must drop the sheets in the designated drop box without fail, before leaving the Examination Hall/Room. 
• The scribe accompanying the Person with Disability (PwD/PwBD) should not solve the questions. The scribe must mark the response chosen by the candidate only. 

Wear simple, comfortable clothes without large buttons or metallic items. Avoid accessories like watches or jewellery to comply with the exam regulations.

Chemistry was easy compared to Physics and Mathematics. The majority of questions were asked from Organic Chemistry and Inorganic Chemistry. There were a few questions from Physical Chemistry, but they were not very difficult. Overall the questions were concept-based.

The NTA score is the aggregate percentile score of all three subjects. It is the same as that of the aggregate percentile score.

The Physics section was challenging with questions on the trickier side. Overall the paper had a mix of theoretical and numerical-based questions. Some key topics include - mechanics, thermodynamics, and electricity. The section was time-consuming with a strategic approach towards questions. 

The mathematics section was moderately difficult. Questions were covered from calculus, coordinate geometry, and algebra. Some questions were direct and some questions were formula-based. Few questions required critical thinking skills.

Some questions were time-consuming, which made time management crucial. Students who practised will be able to score easily in this section.

The JEE Main shift 2 paper of January 29 was balanced for most students. Overall, the paper was moderately difficult. Many students found physics a bit tricky, especially the numerical-based questions. However, the mathematics and chemistry section was overall easy to moderate with questions asked straightforwardly.
The Mathematics paper had a combination of easy and tough questions, requiring good time management. Chemistry was not as challenging, with a focus on theoretical questions. The exam paper was curated with conceptual knowledge and problem solving skills, making students challenge and approach questions methodically.

• Chemistry was balanced with a blend of inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry. The chemistry section was overall of moderate difficulty, with students finding it easier than physics but more challenging than mathematics.
• Mathematics: This section included questions from a variety of chapters such as Algebra, Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, and Trigonometry. While the overall difficulty was moderate, certain problems. Students found the section to be time consuming as well.

The Mathematics section ranged from moderate to difficult. Key topics include: 3D,  Vectors, Binomial, Conic Sections, Matrices, and Determinants being prominent. However, Calculus had fewer questions. While the difficulty level was not excessively high, the lengthy and time-consuming nature of many questions made Mathematics the most challenging section for many students.

The chemistry section was easy to moderate. The questions were direct and almost all chapters were covered with inorganic and inorganic chemistry. Physical chemistry had a few questions. Most theoretical questions were NCERT-based, eventually making the section a "time saver" allowing students to dedicate more time in other sections. 

Most students found the JEE Main January 29 physics section to be easy. Most of the questions were theoretical-based. The questions were distributed equally from the class 11th and 12th syllabus. 

Important topics/chapters covered- Mechanics, Waves, and Thermodynamics were adequately covered. On the other hand, electrostatics, optics, and mechanics had a stronger presence. Modern physics and magnetism had few questions.

According to Aakash, the overall paper of JEE Main January 29 morning shift paper was moderate to difficult. Out of the three sections, physics was the easiest, chemistry was moderately difficult, and mathematics was the most challenging and time-consuming. However, the distribution of the questions was generally balanced, though some chapters were absent. 

The National Testing Agency does not release raw marks. However, 60 marks in JEE Main 2025 will be around 82 to 84 marks.

Based on the JEE exam 2025 held on January 22, 23, 24, and 28, here are the expected minimum marks required for qualifying JEE Advanced -

The JEE Main 2025 Jan 29 shift 2 session has started. The exam will conclude at 6 pm. 

As per the scheme of the exam, JEE Main 2025 exam session 1 is conducted for three hours in an online computer-based mode. However, persons with disabilities will be given 60 minutes extra time to attempt the exam. Candidates appearing in the exam are advised to manage their time effectively while appearing in the JEE Main 2025 January 29 exam. 

• Mathematics: 3 to 4 questions on Vectors
• Ray Optics: 1 question
• Electrostatics: 1 to 2 questions
• Chemistry: Questions about Biomolecules, Halogens, Optical Rotation, CFSE.

Before reaching the exam centre, candidates must enter the required details in the self-declaration (undertaking) in legible handwriting, paste the photograph, and put the thumb impression at the appropriate place on the admit card. The gate entry closes at 2:30 pm and the exam for JEE Main Jan 29 shift 2 starts at 3:00 PM. 

Chemistry- Chemistry was rated as easy to moderate and served as a time-saver. Almost all chapters were covered, with Inorganic and Organic Chemistry dominating, while Physical Chemistry had fewer questions. Most theoretical questions were directly based on NCERT, making the section straightforward and quick to complete, allowing students to allocate more time to other sections.

Physics- Most students found the Physics section easy, with many questions being theoretical. The distribution of topics was balanced, with an almost equal representation from Class 11 and Class 12. Key topics such as Mechanics, Waves, and Thermodynamics were adequately covered, while Electrostatics, Optics, and Mechanics had a stronger presence. In contrast, Modern Physics and Magnetism had fewer questions.

Mathematics- The Mathematics section ranged from moderate to difficult. Questions were well-distributed across most chapters, with topics like 3D, Vectors, Binomial , Conic Sections, Matrices, and Determinants being prominent. However, Calculus had fewer questions. While the difficulty level was not excessively high, the lengthy and time-consuming nature of many questions made Mathematics the most challenging section for many students.

Candidates securing 200 marks in JEE Mains 2025 session 1 exam can expect 99.7 to 99.8 percentile. The actual percentile score will be announced along with JEE Mains 2025 result session 1.

Based on the JEE Main 2025 paper TODAY, students expect that the cutoff can be around 150 to 160. 

The second shift exam of JEE Main 29 January 2025 will start at 3 pm. The JEE 29 Jan shift 2 paper will conclude at 6 pm.
