IP University Revised Academic calendar 2019-20: Final year exams to begin June 20 onward

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, popularly known as IP University released a revised academic calendar for the ongoing session 2019-20 to manage academic schedule which got ruptured due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus followed by multiple lockdowns in order to contain the virus spread.

IP University Revised Academic Calendar 2019-20

According to the revised calendar, the IP University examination for final semester students will begin from June 20 onwards. For the other semester students’, the exams will commence from July 1 onwards. The University will begin the new academic session from August 3.

IP University Examination: Offline or Online

The IP University is not confirmed about the mode of end-term examinations. It may be conducted in online mode or in conventional offline mode following social distancing norms depending upon the situation. Guidelines for the same will be released accordingly.

The duration of the examination will be reduced to two hours instead of three hours if the exams will be conducted through offline mode. The datesheet for the same will be released on the University’s website.

IP University’s official statement, “If the university does not open till June 20 due to the coronavirus outbreak, online examinations will be conducted for the final year students and students of other semesters will be graded on the basis of last semester’s performance and internal assessment.”

If the University conducts examinations in online mode, the multiple-choice question (MCQ) paper would be conducted through artificial intelligence (AI) proctored software or through other alternative tools. The lab examination would also be held online using video conferencing tools by the respective department and institute.

IP University Summer Internships

The official notice reads, “The students of all the programs from other than final semester are required to undertake summer internships during the period from May 7 till 20th June either in companies or undertake online internships. Those students who are unable to get any opportunity for online internships should inform the Deans/Directors/Principals of their colleges regarding completion of the same as per University/UGC/AICTE guidelines latest by 25th May 2020.

The notice further states, “the university will issue revised academic calendar for the programmes offered by the University School of Architecture and University School of Medical and Para Medical Sciences later.”
