Keeping in mind that the University is surrounded by most of the areas that are under containment zones, the authorities issued strict guidelines for the establishments and residential staff quarters to follow.

In the midst of the novel coronavirus lockdown, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) issued an order to strictly follow the safety guidelines given by the government of India. Earlier, the university released guidelines for the non-teaching staff and students staying in hostels (the ones who could not leave during the lockdown and are staying in the hostel with due permission of the authorities). The university also conducted three faculty training webinars under VC Najma Akhtar leadership to help students the online education culture and gain the most from it.

The prevailing emergency situation shows that Delhi is emerging as one of the major hotspots of COVID-19. Religiously following the guidelines issued by the MHA/MoH& FW/ Govt of NCT Delhi/ Delhi Police etc. is a need of the time. Keeping in mind that the University is surrounded by most of the areas that are under containment zones, the authorities issued strict guidelines for the establishments and residential staff quarters to follow. The guidelines issued by Jamia University are as follows:

  1. In order to further strengthen the safety of the campus, only Gate no. 4 and 13 will be operational as exit/ entry points. The rest of the gates to be locked until further order.
  2. As per MHA directives, all religious/ social/cultural gatherings are prohibited as per social distancing norms.
  3. In view of the new cases of corona positive emerging and surrounding pockets being declared as containment zones, it's imperative to follow social distancing norms and practice of going to mosques to be avoided till the situation improves. The mosques in residential colonies to minimize the presence only to Imam, Muazzin and caretaker.
  4. The RWA is requested to take proactive steps and enforce the safety guidelines strictly by taking the following steps:
  • No outsiders including guests/ visitor to be allowed.
  • Multiple Entry/Exit gates to be closed immediately leaving only one gate for authorised access within their residential area.
  • No gathering of any kinds to be permitted.
  • The safety and health protocols to be followed strictly.
