In order to reopen the schools, the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education, the Central schools started collecting feedback from the stakeholders.
Amid the ongoing pandemic situation, schools across the country have started to reopen after being closed since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak followed by the nationwide lockdown imposed across the country to contain the virus spread. Various media reports suggest, Kendriya Vidyalaya and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya will also be reopening schools across the country soon. The speculations state that Kendriya Vidyalaya and Jawahar Navdaya Vidyalas are planning to reopen the schools across the country from November 2, 2020. The process of accessing the situation has started and the reports are being collected. The schools will first be reopened for the students from classes 9 to 12. In order to reopen the schools, the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education, the Central schools started collecting feedback from the stakeholders. There are a total of 1250 KVs and 650 JNVs with 15 lakh students enrolled.
The Kendriya Vidyalayas decided to reopen the schools from September 21, 2020, according to the Unlock 4.0 guidelines issued. However, a majority of Parents expressed their unwillingness towards reopening of the school which led to the continuation of the online classes. Now, the parents and teachers along with school authorities in the districts are being asked again to give their feedback for reopening the schools. Schools in states of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Assam, Himachal Pradesh have already reopened the schools for the students although attendance is strictly voluntary with only a few students attending schools. Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh government is mulling to reopen schools from November 2.
