Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister have written to UGC to inform that the state has decided to promote all students without exams, except those who are in the final year. He also urged the Council to promote final year students without an exam.
Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant in a letter to the University Grants Commission (UGC) said that the state has decided to promote all students studying in both undergraduate and postgraduate courses without conducting the exam, except those in the final year.
He further requested the council to consider the option of promoting students without conducting exams of last year for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
In the letter to UGC, the minister said: “State government took decisions to promote students of diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate to next year except students of final year. The grading of the students will be done as per UGC and State Level Committee’s guidelines.”
