I have been one of the studious children since the beginning as a result to which I was able to secure a decent CGPA of 8.8 in Class 10 exams. Since then only I wanted to move ahead in IT domain. After in-depth discussions with family and friends, I decided to take up Medical as my stream in Class 11. But that was not all. I was yet to face the most difficult situation of any student’s life which is to choose a degree course and the college offering the same. As soon as the Class 12 exams were over, I started looking for colleges offering BCA degree programme and their eligibility criteria. There were a couple of them but I decided to go ahead with JIMS - Jagannath Institute of Management Sciences, Vasant Kunj. The decision was absolutely based on factual data that took into consideration the placement statistics, rankings & accreditations, opportunities, curriculum, alumni reviews, etc.

The admission process of JIMS is quite simple. All eligible candidates need to undergo a written aptitude test conducted by JIMS, i.e. JET (JIMS Entrance Test) followed a Personal Interview round. The test is divided into three sections – Verbal ability, Quantitative ability and General knowledge which is to test the basic interest and technical capabilities of students. JIMS follows a comprehensive selection process. The final selections are made on the basis of the student’s merit performance along with the JET scores and performance in the personal interview round.

The best thing about JIMS is the industry-oriented curriculum which is updated quite frequently. And, over and above this, the institute invites the industry experts to deliver the curriculum in the form of guest lectures. Besides this, we have co-curricular activities and lab sessions for practical exposure. The faculty at the institute is quite a lot experienced and come from varied industry experiences. Regular industry visits, workshops, seminars and alumni meet also contribute towards the personal growth of the students. So far, I used to think that school life was the best phase but the college days have a great impact in my life. When I look back at myself, I see a great positive change. I am more confident and social than ever before.
