The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), Hyderabad has invited applications for its PG diploma in rural development management. The last date to apply for the programmes is April 10, 2020.

The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), Hyderabad has invited applications for its PG diploma in rural development management. The institute is offering two programmes - Diploma in Rural Development Management and Postgraduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDM-RM). The last date to apply for the programmes is April 10, 2020. It is a residential immersive programme, with a curriculum designed specifically to cultivate a dedicated and capable cadre of rural development management professionals in the country. Candidates can submit their applications online on the official website of NIRDPR at nirdpr.org.in. It is to be noted that the institute will not accept downloaded applications. For further details, candidates are suggested to visit the official website.

The one-year programme consists of three trimesters and comprises three major mechanisms: classroom teaching and shared learning; short and long field visits; and rural administrative internships. These learnings prepare the students with skills to better make use of policies. They offer them fundamental development and management understandings and provide analytical skills for planning and managing rural development programmes. On the other hand, the two-year programme consists of six trimesters offering students the opportunities to learn advance courses relevant to the rural development sector.

NIRDPR provides a wide range of courses that caters to crucial policy and management issues in rural development that will empower students to grow management, analytical and planning skills. It acts as a think-tank for the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. NIRDPR also acts as a source of knowledge on rural development. It also helps the Ministry in policy devising and choice of options in rural development to bring changes.
