Approximately, six lakh students have appeared for the matriculation examinations this year. Over 2,000 senior teachers will be engaged in the evaluation process.
Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, state matriculation examinations for regular students have ended on March 2, 2020. During the fortnight-long state matriculation examinations, a total of 887 students were booked for cheating. According to Examination Controller Nihar Ranjan Mohanty, on the last day of the examination, a total of 150 students were booked using wrong means while writing the exam. Amid paper leak rumors, the Board began the examinations on February 22, 2020.
Proving the rumors to be wrong, the BSE authorities ensured that no such things happen in the subsequent days of the examination. The exam controller further stated that to resort unfair means during the examination, the authorities took stringent measures. He also revealed that strict actions taken by the enforcement squad caught many imposters during the initial days of the examination. To curb the menace, the Board had to keep a close check on the students appearing for the examination. In order to maintain discipline and proper conduction of the state matriculation examinations, an enforcement squad was made to curb unfair means used by students during exams. The step helped the authorities to catch multiple cases of cheating and impersonation.
According to the sources, the evaluation of the answer sheets would begin soon. The evaluation process will take place in over 60 centres across the state. Approximately, six lakh students have appeared for the matriculation examinations this year. Over 2,000 senior teachers will be engaged in this process. The examination results will be out by the end of April.
