COVID-19 Crash Course: Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced a crash course for training and upskilling COVID-19 workers through a video conference. On June 18, 2021 at 11 am, PM Narendra Modi launched the program called ‘Customized Crash Course programme for COVID-19 frontline workers’. The aim of the programme is to create skilled non-medical healthcare workers for fulfilling the future need for manpower.
A total of six customized crash course programme for COVID-19 frontline workers under Skill India have been launched. Reports suggest, these modules include Home Care Support, Basic Care Support, Advanced Care Support, Emergency Care Support, Sample Collection Support, and Medical Equipment Support. The trained workers will assist doctors in the treatment of COVID 19 patients.
While launching the crash course the PM said, “We are working towards preparing 1 lakh frontline workers in the country.” He further added that the programme would be available at 111 training centers across 26 states in the country. The Union Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship was also present during the launch of the Crash course for COVID workers. Check the tweet given below:
This course is designed under the Central Component of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 3.0. Rs. 276 crore is the total sanctioned amount for this programme. PM Modi thanked the entire fraternity of the healthcare sector for selflessly serving humankind while launching the Crash course for COVID-19 workers.
