I am Sayooj K S, a native of Wayanad from Kerala. I completed my schooling from Jawahar Navodaya Lakkidi Wwayanad and later pursued B.PHARM. Recognizing the opportunities in the corporate world I decided to pursue an MBA at Acharya Bangalore Business School. Presently I am also a licensed pharmacist. I find interest in traveling and exploring various cultures and their food styles, I am also a tech enthusiast.

Q1. How did you choose your course of study in school (class XI-XII)? What made you choose an MBA at Acharya Bangalore Business School (ABBS)?

After completion of my 10th at JNV Wayanad I was sure about taking science as the stream of education for my secondary education which was because of the versatility of choices I have, after taking science in 12th.  The fact that JNV education gives an add-on value to my career and science was the only stream of choice in the specific school was also a factor I considered while choosing the same. My interest in being a pharmacist was derived from my father who is also a pharmacist. Hence, I chose B. PHARM from KLE College of Pharmacy Bangalore by the recommendation of a few of the drug inspectors who were in touch with my father. Understanding about the opportunities and the idea of starting a pharmaceutical company of my own led me to pursue an MBA for which I had shortlisted more than 5 colleges and the final decision was taken by analyzing the ranking of the colleges and reviews from the students there. ABBS was chosen because I got a high level of expectations on attending the interview by Dr. Rajesh. C, and my decision to choose ABBS was right according to me.

Q2. How you crack admission in Acharya Bangalore Business School? What all entrance test(s) did you give? Any coaching classes that you took for preparation? Any other colleges that you were trying out for? What challenges did you face while opting for ABBS?

Getting into a management course after B. Pharm was not easy, I had tried my luck in the CAT entrance exam and also attended the KMAT. ABBS had an even separate set of the selection process for me, which included an on-call interview and a personal online interview. The college also had kept a minimum cut of marks to enter into the course. I had shortlisted more than 5 colleges and was selected in all the 5 that I attended the test. Some of those colleges were RIMS, AIMSIBS, Ramaiah Institute of management, Nehru Institute etc. the major challenge I faced was different websites showed entirely different ratings and reviews for each college.

Q3. How do you spend your time at college? Which classes do you like to attend? Which extra-curricular activities are you a part of in college? If given a chance, what else would you want to do? How has your college experience changed you as a person? What opportunities do you see in the future?

Acharya Bangalore Business School is really one of the best places to pursue an MBA according to me. I found the ambiance of the college and the infrastructure really beautiful. Most of my time like all other students was spent in the canteen and to some extent in the library, almost all the classes are engaging and the faculties have corporate experience and knowledge which provided me with new information and knowledge every class I attended in college most of the time except the class is spent with networking or indulging in talks related to entrepreneurship and corporate world. Being in many clubs like marketing club, entrepreneurship development club, institution innovation club, incubation club etc. I find myself with vast opportunities to improve my talents and knowledge grooming me to be ready to face the corporate world and to become a good human being with the right values and ideologies. The college also conducts frequent guest lectures and industrial visits which I felt the most interesting and helpful for us. The college also conveys a message on green campus and sustainability which really makes us think about the sustainable growth and future of the planet. The director and the faculties provided us enough support and guidance which helped me realize the importance of being the supporting hand and leadership. The college supports budding entrepreneurs to make their business idea into a reality and I wish to take this opportunity to make my ideas into reality.

Q4. What do you plan in future?

In future I would like to become a responsible citizen who will be able to contribute to the humanity to the best of my ability, I aim in becoming a successful businessman and to be contribute to sustainable development and will be involved in philanthropic activity.
