Chhattisgarh government has announced that the schools will not open in the state in October.
Schools in Chhattisgarh will not open in October, the state government informed. As per the statement released, schools in the state will continue to remain closed in view of the coronavirus pandemic. The state government has however not released any dates of reopening schools.
“The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel here,” a government spokesperson said.
As per the recent guidelines released by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the state government can make a decision about the reopening of schools after October 15, 2020. In Unlock 5.0 guidelines, the MHA has clearly stated that the schools can not have more than 200 people at the premises. Many states have decided to reopen their classes in a graded manner. r.
On one hand, states such as Harayana are resuming classes for the students and on the other hand, there are states like Telangana, Maharashtra who have decided to keep their schools shut until October end. All those states that had reopened the schools from September 21, would continue to permit students 9 to 12 to attend school. Punjab, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Meghalaya, etc. have permitted the reopening of schools but students are only to attend for guidance.
“The state cabinet decided that in view of the pandemic situation in Chhattisgarh, schools will continue to remain shut,” the spokesperson said. The cabinet also decided that no extravagant ceremony would be held this year on the occasion of the state foundation day on November 1. "Only the state award ceremony will be held at the chief minister's residence," the official said while talking to the reporters.
