Schools in Haryana has given permission to reopen from September 21, the Directorate of School Education said.
Haryana government has announced that the schools in the state have been given permission to re-open from September 21 for students of Classes 9 to 12 for guidance. Follwing the Unlock 4.0 guidelines, some of the states have already given the necessary go ahead to re-open schools from next week to help students studying in classes 9 to 12. The permission is strictly on ‘voluntary basis’.
Directorate of School Education, Haryana has issued a letter to district education officers, allowing for the schools to open from September 21. The schools have to follow the guidelines as specified in the SOPs for reopening schools, as issued by the Health Ministry. While teaching and non-teaching staff will be going to school on daily basis, no regular classes will be conducted as of now.
Students, who wish to go to school to consult their teachers have to also adhere to SOPs. Furthermore, all such students must mandatorily provide written consent from their parents to attend school. They will also have to undergo thermal scanning before entering the premises and wear masks and sanitize their hands, and social distancing will be ensured when they are seated.
As for teachers, they would have to download the Aarogya Setu App on their mobile phones and also take a COVID-19 test before partial reopening of schools. This is, again, not mandatory and private schools may continue to remain closed, should they so desire.
For students, the schools will continue to remain closed. Also, the online classes for students will continue as before even if the students are attending the schools to clear their doubts or practicing in the labs. Unlock 4.0 Guidelines also permits only 50 per cent capacity in the school, at all times.
Whule the Ministry of Home Affairs has given its permission to partially re-opening of schools from September 21, the final decision lies with the State Government. Some states like Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh has however decided to keep the schools closed for the month of September. Delhi Government has decided to partially open the schools in the state and has issued guidelines for the same.
