Schools in Rajasthan may open for higher classes from November 2, the officials said. A detailed SOPs have been drafted in this context and sent to the state government as well.
Schools in Rajasthan is likely to reopen from November 2, the officials confirmed. The schools across the state have been kept closed for the last 7 months owing to the coronavirus outbreak in the country. The officials confirmed that the government is planning to reopen schools for at least classes 10 to 12.
While talking to a media house, State Education Minister Govind Singh Dotasara has confirmed that the education department has sent a ready proposal to the state government for opening schools for the senior classes from November 2 onwards. The department is now waiting for the response from the state government regarding the same.
The school is expected to open for senior classes in the first phase.
“A detailed SOPs have been drafted in this context and sent to the state government as well. Our worry is to ensure that schools are being run for 150 days at least which is the minimum requirement for operating one academic school session,” he said, adding that zero academic sessions are nowhere on our minds.
The SOPs include guidelines for teachers and students that include sanitization of school furniture, stationery, toilets, water tanks, etc, arrangement for washing hands, using own pens, books, and notebooks, eating home-cooked meals, drinking water in their own water bottles, etc.
The Ministry of Home Affairs had earlier in the month had allowed the states and Union Terrorities across India to reopen the schools in a graded manner within their jurisdiction after a thorough assessment of the COVID-19 situation.
