Q: What is the mode of study for Graduate Certificate in Computing at UOW, Gift City Campus?
The mode of study at University of Wollong, Gift City is offline. UOW offers MCA, Graduate Certificate in Computing, Master of Financial Computing and Graduate Certificate in Financial Technology courses at the UG and PG level. Candidates will attend classes on the UOW India Gift City campus, and aspirants can sometimes choose class times outside business hours to help and organise study around along with other commitments. UOW integrates online learning into all of the subjects so the time spent on campus is spent strengthening to understanding and practicing the gained skills.

Yes. We have been receiving interest from students from India and international students as well and plan to admit them within the cohort group starting from November 2024.
Q6. What skills students must possess to join UOW India Finance and FinTech programs?
Aspiring students who wish to join the Master of Financial Technology (FinTech) or Graduate Certificate in Financial Technology should have a 3-year Bachelor’s degree. It is desirable to have exposure to the financial domain in form of courses undertaken and/or experience working in this domain, however, it is not an essential criterion. We shall conduct assessment for identifying any knowledge gaps that exist in the students’ within the cohort group and hence bring them up to the level where they can comfortably go through the course curriculum.

Financial Technology has become important for accessing financial services using technology-enabled digital tools. It has created opportunities for Women to pursue career that allow them to contribute skilfully to delivering services in financial domain. Digital tools in Fintech allow women to be empowered to contribute successfully in companies at various positions/roles.
The Women Leaders in Fintech Scholarship at UOW India aims to support and empower female students pursuing studies in financial technology. This scholarship offers 50% off on tuition fees to the top 3 students on application, awarded upon academic excellence.
Q8. What are the training programmes you plan to organise at UOW India Finance & FinTech for the upliftment of students’ knowledge base?
Learning is a continuous process. For the upliftment of the knowledge base in the domain of Finance and FinTech, there shall be content-driven classroom sessions, where key concepts shall be emphasized upon. Case studies and examples from experienced faculty members who have worked in different parts of the globe shall provide contextual exchange of knowledge. Additionally, there shall be workshops/masterclasses to ensure that the relevant technical skills are taught to bridge the learning gap. Financial data that replicate real-life data from the industry shall be acquired from reputed databases for solving financial business problems. Continuous mentoring and interaction with the industry shall lead to placement opportunities that students will decide to choose based on their career aspirations.
