Educational institutions across the country have been closed for at least three weeks due to nationwide lockdown imposed to contain the spread of coronavirus.
"During a review meeting, the Chief Minister had directed all the officials to start online education in primary, secondary, higher, technical, professional, medical, nursing and other institutions. They were also asked to make permanent the model for online studies by preparing e-content and taking other initiatives," said Awanish Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary, Information.
In higher education institutions, online classes have already been started and about 80,000 students have participated in it until now, he said.
Similarly, content for 2,736 hours has been uploaded online by technical institutions imparting BTech, MCA, MBA, and other courses, he added.
On the directives given by the Chief Minister, emergency services in hospitals will be started soon, subject to certain conditions, including the availability of protective measures against COVID-19, Awasthi said.
