Unlock 5 Guidelines: According to the latest guidelines released by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) today, i.e. September 30, schools, colleges and educational institutions will continue to remain closed until October 15. The official reports also suggest that the guidelines will come into effect from October 1, 2020. The new guidelines are based on feedback received from states and union territories and extensive consultations held with related central ministries and departments.
The MHA Guidelines, issued on September 30, has given the flexibility to the schools and other academic institutes to take a decision after October 15 with regard to the start of face to face classes considering the ongoing pandemic situation. However, the guidelines also add that online and distance learning modes of teaching-learning will continue and will be encouraged. Universities, colleges and other academic institutions are closed in the country since the month of March due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus followed by the lockdown imposed in order to contain the virus.
Various states are opting for different ways to continue the teaching and learning process. From conducting online classes to broadcasting classes on radio and televisions, state government and education boards are leaving no stone unturned compensate the academic loss due to the suspension of the classroom lectures.
