Uttarakhand School Reopening: Schools for 10th, 12th Class students to reopen from November 1, get details here

According to the latest information shared by the state government spokesperson and Cabinet Minister Madan Kaushik, the state collectively took this decision during a state Cabinet meeting chaired by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.

Uttarakhand School Reopening: The Uttarakhand State Government decided to permit partial reopening of schools for Class 10 and Class 12 students starting from November 1, 2020, onwards. According to the latest information shared by the state government spokesperson and Cabinet Minister Madan Kaushik, the state collectively took this decision during a state Cabinet meeting chaired by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.

In order to inform the students and their parents regarding the decision, the state government shared the information with media persons prior to reopening schools; the government asked all District Magistrates and District Education Officers to take feedback regarding the same from various stakeholders, including students, parents and teachers. After receiving feedback from them, the government decided to allow the partial reopening of schools and face-to-face classes for students of Class 10 and Class 12. When asked about the resumption of physical classes for other students, Mr Madan Kaushik informed media persons that a decision about that will be taken after reviewing the situation post partial reopening for Class 10 and 12 students. He also added that in the meanwhile, online classes will continue for students.

In line with the instructions issued by the state government, schools will be open for Class 10 and Class 12 students only. All school administrators are asked to ensure strict adherence to COVID guidelines and precautionary measures for the reopening of schools. During this period, wearing face masks and practicing social distancing would be compulsory for all students and staff members visiting schools. Meanwhile, schools are also asked to promote proper hand hygiene by ensuring the availability of hand sanitizers and handwashing stations across the campus.
