On the basis of grades, SGPA, YGPA and CGPA will be calculated. The performance of candidates is evaluated in terms of Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) which is an average grade point for a semester and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) which is the average grade point for all semesters. SGPA is calculated on the following basis:

SGPA

Yearly Grade Point Average (YGPA) is calculated at the end of each year, which means YGPA for 1st year will be calculated at the end of 2nd semester, and so on. YGPA is calculated on the below basis:

YGPA

Similarly, CGPA is calculated at the end of each programme. The formula for the calculation of CGPA is given below:

CGPA

Passing Marks: The evaluation is based on two components, which are external and internal. The weightage of internal evaluation is 70% whereas, external evaluation has a weightage of 30%. To pass a particular course, a candidate has to secure the percentage of marks required for passing in both the components independently.

For example: if the passing standard is 36% for a respective course, then a candidate has to secure at least 36% in both the heads independently i.e. 25 out of 70 and 11 out of 30.

At the PG level, the CGPA of courses is computed on a scale of zero to six. The formula for converting the CGPA into percentage is as follows:

Percentage = (Obtained CGPA / 6) * 100

For some of the courses, CGPA is computed on a scale of one to 10. The formula for converting the CGPA into percentage is as follows:

Percentage = (Obtained CGPA / 10) * 100

VNSGU Revaluation Process 2020

VNSGU allows students who are getting a fewer mark or fail mark in subjects to apply for revaluation or reassessment. Revaluation process is available for all UG, PG and doctorate courses. Students can apply for the revaluation process within 15 days of the declaration of results.

In the yearly system, the students are allowed to improve the result of last year only whereas, in semester pattern, candidates are allowed to improve the results of either last semester or both semesters of last year. Students can apply only once for the revaluation of the exam. Candidates need to fill an application form to apply for the revaluation process. The revaluation results are also announced through the official website of VNSGU.
