JEE Advanced 2016 Paper Pattern Changes
JEE Advanced 2016 exam commenced on May 22 with Paper 1 of the exam concluding at 12 pm. According to students who appeared for the exam, the paper pattern of JEE Advanced 2016 has changed as compared to the year 2015.
Firstly, this year, the JEE Advanced paper was of 186 marks as compared to 264 marks in 2015. Students also shared that this year, there were no ‘Match the following’ kind of questions. Infact, this was replaced by ‘Single Correct Option’ kind of questions.

Here is the JEE Advanced 2015 Paper Pattern:
- Section 1 contained 8 questions. The answer to each question was a single digit integer ranging from 0-9 (both inclusive).
Marking scheme: +4 for correct answer and 0 in all other cases.
- Section 2 contained 10 multiple choice questions with one or more than one correct option.
Marking scheme: +4 for correct answer, 0 if not attempted and -2 in all other cases.
- Section 3 contains 2 “match the following” type questions and aspirants had to match entries in Column I with the entries in Column II.
Marking scheme: for each entry in Column I – +2 for correct answer, 0 if not attempted and -1 in all other cases.
The ORS and scanned responses for the exam will be displayed on the official website from June 1 to June 4, 2016. JEE Advanced 2016 official answer keys will be released on June 5. Check JEE Advanced 2016 important dates here.
