After examining the curriculum, extra-curricular activities & course structure, I decided to opt for the BBA in International Business. The course offered a wide array of subjects like Accounting, Economics, Management, Marketing, Trade Economics, etc in the first two years and specialization in the third.

I had always been interested in management and finance. That is why I was considering pursuing it even during my XI & XIIth standard. I researched a lot of courses like BSc in Economics, BA in Economics, BBA, etc.

After giving the entrance tests at many universities for various courses, I narrowed down on B.Sc in Economics at Symbiosis Pune and BBA in International Business at MIT-WPU Pune. After examining the curriculum, extra-curricular activities & course structure, I decided to opt for the BBA in International Business. The course offered a wide array of subjects like Accounting, Economics, Management, Marketing, Trade Economics, etc in the first two years and specialization in the third.

The specializations offered are CSR Management, Sports Management, Entrepreneurship Management, Travel & Tourism Management, and Family Business Management. Along with these academic disciplines, the course also has a National Immersion program, International Immersion program, Rural Development program. There are also some value-added programs like peace studies, yoga, etc. All this made BBA in International Business at MIT-WPU a perfect course.

To get admission to MIT-WPU (SOM-UG), students have to give an exam called UG-PET. UG PET is a University level entrance exam conducted by MIT World Peace University for admission into various undergraduate courses in the field of Liberal Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management. It is a 3 stage evaluation process. First, they gauge the students on the grounds of intellectual prowess, communication skills, and personal development. The entrance evaluation process began with an aptitude test of 100 marks; students who get more than 50 are promoted to the next round i.e. group discussion. After the students have satisfactorily completed the GD round, they are sent for a personal interview with the faculty members.

I started my preparations a few months before the exam. It involved solving a lot of sample aptitude tests available online and watching various group discussion tutorials on YouTube.

The college timings depend on the course selected i.e either 7:45 am to 12:45 pm or 1 pm to 6 pm. Our lectures usually began with the elective subjects which in my case was Business Communication (the other option was computer fundamentals). The lectures usually were of 50 minutes followed by a 10 minutes break. The first half of the day had three such lectures in succession, followed by a recess of 30 minutes.

There are a lot of food and beverage options in and around the campus to enjoy during the break. The second half has two lectures, so they are usually taken up by lab activities (for TALLY software tutorial) and guest lectures. We also have yoga sessions once a week. Our subjects in the first year were Economics, Financial Accounting, HR Management, Mathematics, Principles of Management, Statistics, and electives like Business Communication & Computer Fundamentals. We also had some value-added programs like environmental studies, peace, etc.
