Parents of both CBSE and CISCE Board have started an online campaign demanding both the board to not hold the remaining exam and declare the result on the basis of internal assessment.

Latest Update:Cancel CBSE Board Exams considering prevailing pandemic situation: Sisodia wrote to HRD Minister

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) who will be conducting the class 10th and 12th remaining exams in August, faced strong opposition from parents who demanded that the exams should be cancelled owing to the ongoing coronavirus crisis in the country.

Latest Update:

Parents of CBSE and CISCE Board want results to be declared by either calculating the average of tests already held and or on the basis of internal assessment. Parents have launched an online campaign hashtagged “studentlivesmatter", "livesoverexams" and "cancelboardexams”.

Meanwhile, four parents of CBSE and CISCE school students have moved the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of the remaining CBSE 2020 and ISC 2020 exams in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

As per the revised CBSE exam time table, 2020 and ICSE exam time table 2020 exams will be conducted from July 1 onwards. On May 18, CBSE had released the revised Class 10 date sheet 2020 and CBSE Class 12 date sheet 2020

According to the ICSE 10th date sheet 2020, the exams were initially scheduled between February 27 and March 30. However, ICSE 10th exams from March 19 onwards were cancelled due to the COVID-19 scare. This postponement of the class 10 board exam delayed the process as well as the declaration of the ICSE Class 10 results 2020.\

Parents have said that the CBSE has cancelled the CBSE 10th and  CBSE 12th exams 2020  for around 250 of its schools that are situated abroad and has asked to award marks to students on the basis of either practical exams conducted or the internal assessment marks, then why similar approach cannot be followed for students in India.

"Who will ensure the safety of our children? One asymptomatic child or invigilator can infect all the kids in that classroom. The viral load of being in the same room for 4 hours is very high," Nishant Akshar, a parent, told a media house.

A concerned parent tweeted: “In this pandemic of COVID-19 where people are finding it difficult to protect their own lives .The CICSE council has planned to host the remaining exams. The council hardly thinks about the safety of thousands of students and their families. It's high time!!”

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, CBSE had postponed the Class 10 and 12 exams in the country.  This is the first time, that the Board will be announcing the  Class 10 Results and  Class 12 Result by mid-August.
Meanwhile, the Union Human Resource Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has announced that the Board is expected to declare  CBSE 10th Result 2020 and  CBSE 12th Result 2020 by August 15. These include the results of previous exams and the results of examinations in July.
The CISCE Board is expected to release the ICSE 10th Result and  ISC 12th Result 2020 by July end.
