There are no pending CBSE Class 10 Board Exams in the state. Nearly 23,000 students from the state registered for the ICSE Class 10 Board Exams 2020 and ISC Class 12 Board Exams which are scheduled to be held between July 1 and 14, as per the revised ICSE 2020 Date Sheet and ISC 2020 Date Sheet.
Now, the Maharashtra Government will look at the data share by CBSE and CISCE related to the 10th board exams and 12th board exams for pending papers. The state will come up with a possible solution to the issue. According to the reports, an official who attended the meeting said, “It will take some time to arrive at a decision because the situation in each part of the state will have to be considered separately. Based on the data, the education department will see what is best for students.”
On June 4, the state government wrote to the heads of both boards requesting them not to conduct CBSE Board exams 2020 and ICSE Board Exams 2020 in July. It stated that conducting CBSE 10th, 12th exams and ICSE, ISC Exams amid the COVID-9 crisis would put the health of the students and teachers at stake. Also, Students would find it difficult to travel to their centres. The letter thus stated that the government would not permit the boards to conduct the exams as there is too much risk involved.
CBSE and ICSE officials said that complete cancellation of exams might not be possible.
“We have already allowed students to participate in compartmental exams which will be conducted after the main exams, in case of unforeseen circumstances. Students who cannot reach centres for some reason or reside in areas that are containment zones can apply through their schools and avail a concession,” said an official from the ICSE board.
Meanwhile, The HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal announced that the CBSE 10th Results 2020 and CBSE 12th result 2020 will be declared by August 15. "Efforts are being made to declare the result by July-end or August itself. The evaluation process has already begun for the board exams and will continue to be held simultaneously with pending exams," the HRD minister said. This year too, the results of both the classes will be declared at an interval of a few days.
