The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will announce the CBSE 10th & 12th compartment results online. Students can check their results by logging with the required credentials. The compartment/supplementary exams are conducted for those who fail in one or two subjects. The CBSE compartment exam is open to regular and private candidates who passed internal assessments but failed the theory paper exams. For the CBSE Class 10 2026 exam, the compartment exam will be conducted along with the second board exam. The compartment exam for CBSE Class 12 will be conducted in July 2026. CBSE Compartment Result 2026: Important Points

Some of the important points related to CBSE compartment exams are given below.

  • A candidate placed in a compartment may reappear in the compartmental examination held in July/August. They can get the second chance in March/April next year. If students fail to qualify in both, they can appear for the third compartment in July/August of that year
  • The candidate will be declared 'Pass' provided they qualify the compartmental subject/subjects in which they failed.
  • Candidates who do not appear or fail at one or all the chances of the compartment are treated as having failed in the examination. They should reappear in all subjects at the subsequent annual examination.'
  • Candidates placed in the compartment are allowed to appear only in those subjects in which they are given the same in the second chance
  • For subjects involving practical work, they need to appear in the theory part. The marks of the practical will be carried forward. 
  • In case a candidate fails in the practical, they are required to appear in the theory and practical, even if they have already cleared the theory examination
