The Central Board of Secondary Education has released a notice warning students not to believe in fake notices regarding board exams, that are doing rounds on social media platforms.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has today released a notice warning all the students not to believe in fake news regarding board examinations that are doing rounds on social media platforms. The Board has also said that strict action will be taken against those who are spreading such rumors.
It is brought to the notice that several fake news in the form of lookalike circulars about CBSE board exams, evaluation process, passing criteria' is being shared through social media. This has been done with the sole purpose to mislead innocent parents and students, the CBSE notice stated.
In the recent past, the board has taken strict action against those who were involved in misguiding students and for spreading fake news. An FIR was also lodged against those individuals who were found guilty of the same, under the Information Technology Act.
The Board in its notice said that it will be compelled to trace the sources of such news and book miscreants under law.
It has also requested all the media houses and the public to remain wary of such rumors and to know the latest news and update check only the official website.
The official CBSE website is cbse.nic.in. Apart from this, to get the latest news and information one can also visit the Board's official social media handles on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
The Board had recently announced that it will conduct exams only for 29 main subjects for CBSE class 12 students. In the case of CBSE class 10 students, only those papers which were postponed or were not attended by students in the North-East district of Delhi will be held.
