Coronavirus impact: Punjab govt to promote school students

Punjab government has announced that state government schools would promote its students of class 4, 6, 7, 9 and 11. The exams are held centrally for class 5, 8, 10 and 12.

Punjab government has announced that state government schools would promote its students of class 4, 6, 7, 9 and 11. In wake of the coronavirus lockdown in the state, the decision was taken by the State Council for Education Research and Training (SCERT). The exams are held centrally for class 5, 8, 10 and 12. For class 8, the results are likely to be announced within a week. However, the results of class 5, 10 and 12 are yet to be finished. To hold the exams from April 1, the Punjab board had released a modified date sheet. However, the date sheet was deferred further. As of now, the modified dates will be announced after the lockdown period is finished.

 

To evade coronavirus pandemic, the decisions have been taken. On the basis of the performance of the students throughout the year, most of the state boards as well as the Delhi government has decided to promote students till class 9. The number of cases in India has crossed the mark of thousand. All across the globe, 786,291 people have been diseased by the coronavirus. The maximum number of cases has been found from the United States (164,620), followed by Italy (101,739), Spain (87, 956) and China (82,240).

 

The Indian government has so far been successful in containing the spread of coronavirus with overall infected persons numbering approximately 1,300. So far, more than 30 people have lost their lives due to the deadly virus.
